Started playing poker back in August. Have been a struggling winning player at the micros (FR mostly) until recently when I discovered how lush the bums were at NL50 HU. I do pretty well against the regs, too. 12BB/100 over 7,500 hands so far.

http://www.pokertableratings.com/ful...search/myranjo

Are there any NL100 regs (and up) who are bored, taking a break for the night, and would be willing to play me HU at the play chip tables on Stars?

I'm looking for some quick, basic advice so I can start taking on the fish/regs at 1OO. Also, if you like my game and see me as a good investment, I might be interested in a staking arrangement.

I have a 3.5K bankroll which I built up from $150 through profits, rakeback, and referrals. I guess that's enough for 100 but I'm a BR nit and would be more interested in someone taking a vested interest in me, staking a bit, coaching a bit.

Let me know if you can meet on Stars tonight, even if you just want to play for fun and trade notes. I'll be up for a while (France time)
guess the vacation of her dreams is 2 days at the holiday inn down the road. but it's ok because in ur long 7500-hand poker career u've obv proven that u will always be able to make a living from poker if the economy gets any worse.
2+2...the minute you let your ego get out of check, someone's right there to remind you that you're full of ****.

A++++++++++++++

[x] play chips line will have me laughing til the weekend.

This is why bumhunting should be eliminated. There should be a soft cap, where new tables are created until it's reached, at which point no new tables will be created until all current ones have two ACTIVE players on them, and if a player sits out for a total of like ten minutes in fifteen, he gets booted from the table, even if there is nobody else on it, so that empty tables will be cleared and he'll have to sit with someone else.

King of the Hill ftw.

I hope you realize, without all this stuff you wouldn't have any fish to play against.

like any hip subculture, the corporate world will bring it into the main stream and commercialize it until it loses the appeal that made it popular in the first place. The best comparison would be the world of hip hop. It started as a voice and a form of empowerment for the unheard urban under-privileged and it has transitioned over the decades to generic commercialized pop anthems.

People rave about the popularity of shows like the Million Dollar Challenge, but boiling poker down to these game shows might not actually have a long-lasting positive impact on the game. Only time will tell if poker can survive as a permanent fixture in the world after the initial excitement wears off. I think we should take some lessons from the development of golf and add a certain level of class to the game instead of going Mickey Mouse with it.

Maybe people wouldnt bum hunt if the rake at smaller stakes ($1-2 and below) wasn't ******ed? But that's a completely different kettle of fish.

Ironically, it's the seedy degenerate nature of the poker world that is attractive to me. So I guess I'm not really interested in helping the OP change things.

I have to disagree with you here.

The semi-nekkid Casino Whores...
That shill gambling to young wannabe degens on 2p2...
Spread on wholesome, family sites like FuguPoker.com...
Have been carefully screened by Mr. Sklansky...
(Who, incidentally, invented the Casting Couch in the 70s).

Rest assured that no orfice has been overlooked...
In his thorough character and personality analysis...
Because not even a hint of skank...
Can be allowed to besmirch the Hallowed Game.

Go to any casino today and most of the people are STILL degens and unhappy. All the people I know who play online for a living never go outside, never social, lost most of their friends, its win/win for about 1% of players if that, but we all trick our selves into thinking that we can become that 1%.

Everything you hate about poker is what makes it profitable so play it or don't. And no one is forcing you to watch poker on TV or use slang..

This thread is nonsense.

there is nothing more despicable about the poker atmosphere as there is about the general population in the area you live in.

obviously some of us do much better than others in poker and our source of income comes from those less educated about the game and/or those with inferior emotional control

if you think about those setbacks and compare them with the general flaws of the human condition, they are actually quite similar. if someone is less educated than someone of the average population, then they are more likely to have a job making an inferior wage. if someone cannot contain their emotional control, they don't set a good enough example to their management/ownership that leads themselves to get promoted.

if anything, I think poker shows us the true colors of a lot of people especially when it comes to handling adversity and being humble when handling good fortune.
