No seriously it's hard to respect anyone over 35 at a 1/2 table. Unless you just started for some reason but most have been playing for 5-10 years at least and they still havn't managed to beat the lowest stakes and move up.
Also most of these suspects buy in for 50bbs which adds to the cringe factor.
You have no clue. It is recreational and social.
No, seriously, who do you think plays for your respect ? Your "respect" is not my motivation.
I've been doing it for 45+ years because it amuses me to do so. I've played in many settings and countries, but generally in Las Vegas. I am okay, but not the best player in most games I join by any means, there are other motivations than that for playing.
Yeah I can beat the lowest stakes, especially against folks who haven't managed to beat those stakes themselves, like you. (If you had, you wouldn't still be there, would you ? If you complain/tilt over 50 bb opponents, why haven't you figured out how to exploit them ? Sonny, you're not ready to move up, maybe you need more experience at $1-2 to reach your dream of moving up to where they'll respect you and your raises.)
I do respect guys like Doug, who started at the lowest stakes, learned to play, have real talent and pretty rapidly moved to the top. Maybe that's your path. I'll look for you grinding your way up from $1-2 to the cash game hall of fame, someday, unless you go bust or burn out.
In the meantime, no one is looking for your respect, but you're welcome to try and win OMC money at the lowest stakes live. Lessons cost extra.
