What makes you cringe? What makes you cringe?

^^^^what your saying is the exact reason why live poker players who visit a room occasionaly and consider themselves regs or pros feel as they are superior to anyone that enters the room that they do not know, and alot of them feel compelled to intimate newcomers to boost their own ego, of being a professional live player.

they are playing 2/5 for **** sake, majority of people that play it aren't doing it for a living, and only a bunch that do can make a living off it.

I didn't read the whole post above, but is someone bitching about a poker player getting drunk and what is this statement "losing money brings the worst out of people", i would beg to differ, there are studies done which i can't quote that some humans feed off self destruction, which includes losing money, or losing anything really.. and "poker brings the worst out in many people" is absolute bs, poker has taught me alot personally and i'm not speaking for anyone else but i'm sure alot of people would agree poker has taught them many non poker life skills, even there loved ones would have learnt a thing or two from their poker skills etc.

PS: I also got told to stop talking while its 4 handed cause other two regs were in blind for blind 5bet war, and im talking to the dude not involved and he tells me to stop talking, i guess he likes to watch..

wtf, seriously, ill just play there mtts ship moneys go home

This made me laugh. You got Grandpa issues maybe ?

I'm 30 years past 35 and only play 1/2 or 1/3 live precisely because there are more "players without a clue" in the games. In that respect I think you may qualify and you must tilt easily....

Easy to find the marks at the table. Look for the MAGA hats.

Many things makes me cringe. May be the stress, the fear, the challenge of game, the surprise. Especially on poker, the bad luck incites me to cringe. Obviously, poker is a game of probablity and chance.

Look at all the broke OMCs I upset LOL.

No seriously it's hard to respect anyone over 35 at a 1/2 table. Unless you just started for some reason but most have been playing for 5-10 years at least and they still havn't managed to beat the lowest stakes and move up.

Also most of these suspects buy in for 50bbs which adds to the cringe factor.

You have no clue. It is recreational and social. No, seriously, who do you think plays for your respect ? Your "respect" is not my motivation.

I've been doing it for 45+ years because it amuses me to do so. I've played in many settings and countries, but generally in Las Vegas. I am okay, but not the best player in most games I join by any means, there are other motivations than that for playing.

Yeah I can beat the lowest stakes, especially against folks who haven't managed to beat those stakes themselves, like you. (If you had, you wouldn't still be there, would you ? If you complain/tilt over 50 bb opponents, why haven't you figured out how to exploit them ? Sonny, you're not ready to move up, maybe you need more experience at $1-2 to reach your dream of moving up to where they'll respect you and your raises.)

I do respect guys like Doug, who started at the lowest stakes, learned to play, have real talent and pretty rapidly moved to the top. Maybe that's your path. I'll look for you grinding your way up from $1-2 to the cash game hall of fame, someday, unless you go bust or burn out.

In the meantime, no one is looking for your respect, but you're welcome to try and win OMC money at the lowest stakes live. Lessons cost extra.

What is LOL is that you presume that every player at the table is there as a means of self-support. A great number of players are simply there to have fun in a social setting...many of those have both the funds and skills to play higher, even on a recreational basis, but find the hoodie-wearing math nits to be anti-social and, hence, no fun.

So, what makes me cringe? The self-absorbed internet wunderkind who fail to realize and recognize the motives of many live players, especially in a tourist mecca.

Many live 1/2 tables are majority 35+ y/o’s where I used to play. Also idk what kind of conception of money you have but 50 bucks or 100 bucks is not insignificant dude

You're really showing your ignorance if you think the stakes a person plays says something about their net worth.

The worst is middle-aged women and their chewing and popping their gum open-mouthed for hours at a time.

By a biiiiiig margin. The hair plugs look great; go back and look at the old footage with that terrible combover. It's just more obvious for him because he's been on TV for years, and he's also a target because of the jelly factor. But do a side by side of the two and think combover, plugs, or bald, and I'd say his plugs win.

True, in the 1990s Bill Gates was known to indulge in $2-4 Limit play in Las Vegas.
