Heard about Vocal Fry on Howard Stern, and once you hear about it, and hear it, you cannot not notice it anymore.

Pronouncing "vs."as a one syllable word as if you were speaking about something from the Bible. It's always spoken "versus", never "verse".

I read that in an Ike Haxton voice.

First started noticing this speech inflection amongst surfers in SoCal in the late 70s. I used to think of it as simulating talking while taking a bong hit.

Then it seemed like women were doing it much more than men. Now you hear it all over the place.

I guess it’s the future for a lot of people.

Nothing. Youse guys /youse fullas has many good spots

I don’t like the use of the word “brah”, it seems sarcastic to me

EVERYONE from past & present Presidents all the way down the ignoramus-English grammar food chain WHO use sentences with that when it should be who. For example:

Incorrect: Person X is a thief and a con man THAT should be in jail.
Correct: Person X is a thief and a con man WHO should be in jail.

youse guys = y'all, so I guess it's ok.

How about "you know" - uttered 5-6 times per minute whenever an athlete is interviewed.

Also depends on who says it, someone people can pull it off, others make it look weird.

I've seen players lick/suck the BBQ or hot sauce off of their fingers in exaggerated fashion while handling their dirtbag filthy casino chips. It makes me want to puke all over the table.

I've been dealt cards with their sauces on them as well.

i just want poker to be more inclusive in general, the game is hard/complex enough to turn new players away without all the stern looks and tough talk that you see at many games.

women represent a large and untapped population that could grow the game. i think it would be wise if casinos did a womens table or something like that

Poker is one of the most inclusive activities I know of.

Many live poker tables are terribly hostile at times so no that’s not very inclusive for more the agreeable personality types which women tend to be.

The desperation of playing-serious low stakes players tends to make them do short sighted underhanded things regardless of gender/newbness of opponents . I saw a gross example of a wannabe vs a clearly new/ bad female when she was asking him “if he had a jack” on a JJxxx board to receive an earnest promise they didn’t so she called off her stack to be shown quads. “I didn’t lie! I have 2 jacks!” *eyeroll* as she packs up and leaves probably never to be seen again

When poker rooms stopped spreading limit holdem they lost most of their female clientele. You want to get them back then give them a game they want to play.

Seems like a dick-move, knowing you're never losing that hand then giving a rec false hope. I can't see how this is good for the game. Just don't answer the question, or give a half-answer like 'maybe'. I feel like this is worse than slow-rolling.

Sunglasses at any stakes
People tanking any longer then 30seconds on marginal/small decisions
Anyone over the age of 35 playing 1/2 or 1/3 if there are bigger games running

Is this actually a serious issue with you? So if your 35+ you need to be in 2/5+?

I guess my cringeworthy observation is ppl who make dumb comments on 2+2

What does the stakes being played have to do with age?

It's 6am australian time, I have a ***** thats wants to **** me, and what I just experienced makes me cringe so hard I had to log in and post this.

Ok so I get to casino at like midday play bj straight for 4hours end up 3k up, go lose 1k on pokies chill back to bj, wandering around, back to pokies win some lose some back to bj, usually hit 21s, great ****en day though!

Until i say wait i'm a poker player i'm got a handful of 1k chips lets go show these mo****ers some street poker (yeah i watched the triton main event), so I go up there is 2/3 and 2/5 running (2/5 is an optional 10 utg straddle) first hand i get there they put me on the straddle tho lol.

The cringe part of it was the table was breaking and was just 3 of them (all regs but one or two reg fish) and they saw me coming with a beer so they all sat back down to let me join, ok great game on, first hand, other dude who was cool explains how i should treat my utg straddle as if im in bb, im like cool easy thanks for making it easy yada yada.

So guy raises 35, i call my straddle with 65o, call bet on x86 flop, call turn of x865, and he checks river i lead like i dont even know like 130 into who knows what (i can't even count chips live lol) he ****ent TANKS FOR 5 MINUTESSSSSSSSSSS, on my first hand there, like gtfo out of here.

Anyway I stared at the table and chips (it went so long i was looking half at the table and half at the chips everything went blurry after a bit but I held out) and didn't give him any recognition for his ridiculous tanking, (edit... after i left i overheard him in the pokie room discussing indepth hand histories and being pissed off at some guy snap calling him and him saying how bad the games were and felt compelled to confront him and tell him the games were **** cause ppl like him tank for 10 mins when a new player comes to the table, i got better things to do then get a 5 dollar hourly with the amount of hands they get in in an hour lol) then i left the table once they tanked every hand for 10 minutes versus each other.

Introduce a shot clock to live cash games! Even the dealer hated the tanking.

Btw the guy folded like a *****

Poker is hostile, no doubt. Of coarse ther are great tables where all are welcome

Yeah desperation. Many tables have that suppressed atmosphere of desperation. People who want be / think they are better than they are and entitled to a win. People acting like the money doesn’t matter to them but it really does. And all this desparation causing people to flare up over nothing.

The first home game I ever played I almost had to fight my way out of this guys apt because I was up money abd wanted to cash out. It wasn’t a hit n run, I had been playing for perhaps 6hrs and the rule was you had to play at least 2. These guys wanted their money back and and they got drunk and high over the coarse of the gam, and when I finally decided to leave they decided I was breaking etiquette and I wasn’t allowed to cash yet. It came really close to being a f***d up situation. All over like 100 bucks. Poker brings the worst out of many people, losing money brings the worst out of people

And btw these were guys who I knew relatively well. And they were generally very kind people. I had seen them intoxicated before, it’s not like they were all angry drunks. But they transformed at the end of that night and the booze only made it worse
