Starting with the button. Blinds in normal spots (but reversed) Clockwise thereafter.

this amazing idea, if implemented, is without a doubt foreshadowing to another moneymaker effect.

Do you mean counter-clockwise thereafter? Games already go clockwise. Great idea by the way. 10/10

Feel like first-in would always open-limp in this game.

.... If the first round was counterclockwise. Would it make any difference if it just remained counterclockwise?

First round of what - you mean a tournament?

If just the first round then basically it would be irrelevant.

If continuously then that would, in effect, be no different to just switching the order of SB and BB (once players adjust for counter-clockwise position). BB playing before SB would reduce participation of blinds after a single raise (since BB is no longer closing action). A new equilibrium would arise where players would open and 3b looser but blinds would nevertheless fold more often.

Why would you suggest it?

^ ah, me being bone-headed.

Moving one way pre and the other way post seems (a) pointless and (b) likely to lead to confusion/dealer errors

You cannot have a decent understanding of poker if you say it's pointless.

Then tell us the point. What's so great about it that it's worth the hassle of changing directions pre and post flop? How does it improve the game exactly? Would be good to hear from someone wo has a decent understanding of poker.

So the small blind has last action preflop as opposed to the big blind in an unraised pot. Takes away the preflop position advantage of the button which they enjoy the rest of the hand. With this the former UTG can steal blinds.

In the big picture not seeing that it makes that big a difference other than the confusion factor.

having thought about it a bit, it would likely lead to significantly less cold calling and fewer multi-way pots which would suck for the game.

Oh yeah I hadn't thought about that.
Less cold calling + fewer multi-way pots => smaller avg pot => less rake payed=> game is worse for recreational players
