The WSOP ESPN3 stream is on break, and they're replaying some of the 2008 50k event which Scotty Nguyen beat Michael DeMichele heads up. I'm just wondering, whatever happened to DeMichele? I look up his recent cashes, and hes only had 4 cashes since he got 2nd in that event in 2008. He seems like a good playing with a good attitude and table presence, so why no tournament cashes? has he been playing cash games, or doing something besides poker?
Really? I thought he was over-sensitive towards Scotty. Really annoyed me, tbh. It was obvious Scotty was drunk, just let the drunk idiot be. He really got into discussions like he was taking Scotty serious and really making sure everyone heard how hurt he was by what Scotty said.
prob a 1 hit wonder, poker competition has evolved a lot since 08 so he didn't really keep up after he won 2nd in horse, thats' like 1mil right there right?
OK Mr Hellmuth, I'm sure you've been on top of everything from the start and kept on top of everything.
After being mercilessly schooled by Scotty...
MM realized he wasn't "street" or "tough" enough...
To win at poker at the highest levels...
So he quit to become just a gay fruitcake instead.
Totally off topic, but did he play any events this year? Or pretty much dissapear off the face of the poker world? Most likely still bluffing his wife?
"I guess I don't deserve this, this bracelet. I'm only 22. I guess I don't deserve it."
"You don't, baby."
Obvious that he didn't have much fight in him then. He is smart enough to win at poker long term, but not tough enough to sustain in the poker world as a long time professional. You got to stay hungry and tough to continually compete at the highest levels. When this kid was punked by a 120lb loud mouthed alcoholic, he showed he wasn't built for the long term grind of poker.

Do you get scared thinking about where that puts you?

I don't see how this puts me anywhere different than where I am????? I have lived well off of others' losses for 20+ years and never called anyone else boss in my entire life. I have seen guys like this come and go alot throughout the years.

I was 99% sure he was leveling Scotty here, and trying to tilt him by arguing...
Hi yall! I kinda took a 2 year break from poker after I lost my passion for the game. My leave began taking place right after Cardplayer printed that I was regarded as one of the most talented players on the cash game scene. There doesn't seem to be much glory in the ways of being a top tier poker player, with you all posting the 1 messed up pic of me on the web to look bad... talking about me being a crackhead and such. I held the #1 male google image for search "hot poker player" for some time, even after I rocked that bad look. I've never done cocaine or crack in my life. I was the guy who actually used to give away my poker knowledge here on these forums for free to help others get better. I'm not that good anymore but I might get back into the game, we'll see. If I do, I hope I stack all of you who said something nasty about me for no reason. I'd be a lot nicer if any of you weren't just anonymous flamers.

I liked you when the 50k horse event aired. You played great, and came across like a genuine guy. Scotty was being a gigantic drunk douche, and you handled it well.
