He's mentally with it for sure, but his voice is messed up. Probably just has a cold or a sore throat or something. Nothing worth making a thread over.

There's this new thing out there that some call "aging". Gravity pulls down on your throat over time, which would change the pitch of your voice.

Strokes also affect your voice in numerous ways. It's possible that he could have had a stroke and never made it public, but that's not really any of my business.

He has a slight tilting of his lips as a stroke survivor would present. See Andrew Marr. IMO that changed his pronunciation and I am pretty sure that is often what happens in such cases.

If you compare the other comics, they all sound deeper and off (see links at bottom for what I mean and compare them to OP's clip) . My guess is his voice has changed, but not as much as the video has you believe. The original uploader possibly used software to manipulate the voices to avoid detection of copyrighted material or had a bad source or something. I did some googling and couldn't find any other recent clips of Gabe for comparison.

I’ve always loved Gabe Kaplan. Loved Welcome Back Kotter and he was the best poker commentator, this opening comedy set was amazing, very tight set.

what your hearing is the sound guy has way too much low end in his mix also the video seems pretty shitty aswell so it could have something to do with how they recorded it and the upload. im guessing in person his voice sounds pretty much the same as always.

It sounds very unnatural. I think the audio is either altered or the mic/audio was mixed weird or something. It's like they took a machine to make him an octave lower.
