Nah, I knew Delvon and he wasn't getting paid to play, nor do the other MSU players. You're thinking of SEC football.

To celebrate the long-weekend

Guess NHL hockey player PK Subban might not be that well-known in most parts of the world, but here at home he's like the Neymar of Canada!

Thought this pic was especially funny with the fan that looked so excited to be so close

And then also here's NFL football Hall of Famer (and former Dancing with the Stars mirror ball champion!) Emmitt Smith ...

Happy Canada Day and 4th of July everybody!!

PS Willbury - that video's awesome!! Great find

James Woods wasn't clueless is what I remembered. This was 10+ years ago so that level might be considered bad now.

JW is a decent tournament player and a super nice guy - if he's in a good mood... He doesn't play much cash and prefers tourneys. Sat next to him for a few hours and heard a few great stories. Also bluffed him out of a few pots.

So he's a nice guy when he's being nice. Well aren't we all?

Have been seeing more and more stuff about Justin Bieber learning more about poker - there was this article a while ago ...

They today there was this in PokerNews - from the look of the matching outfits, wonder if maybe he might be getting coaching from DNegs or something?

Don't play so much poker any more, but wonder if there might be a chance Justin Bieber getting more involved with poker might get more new people interested in poker too?

I used to play Omaha 8 with Mills Lane at the Cal Neva in Reno. He was a retired sheriff, DA and judge, and he did over 60 title fights as a boxing referee. He got real famous for disqualifying Tyson for biting Holyfield's ear. They gave him a judge show in New York for a year. After that he came back to Reno and fronted for an ambulance chasing lawyer outfit, did local commercials, and sat in the poker games at the Cal Neva everyday.

Lane had a stroke about 2002. It put him out of action but last I heard he is still living.

Not sure if anyone knows who Cornell West is (famous black professor at Princeton) but he used to play at the Tropicana in AC. Quick story from 07 or 08:

One hand limped family pot. Don't remember specific chip counts but I had 300 and they both had me covered at 1/2. I was in the sb and decided to just complete w JJ. BB checked and the flop came KJJ. Checked around, turn was K. I bet pot and got two callers, Mr. West from the button and another fellow from middle position. River was a dud for the board. I bet pot hoping both would call with kings. Cornell was on the button, other gentleman was in mid-position. The other gentleman shoved. Cornell laughed and called. Ship it. He was a nice guy, no politics were spoken however.

1+1=2 I'm sure you're stuck in 2+2=pwning but combined they had the plural version of king which is kings.

After googling everybody's name, they all look familiar

Kind of remember this Poker After Dark special - did Bruce Buffer wind up doing pretty well?

And Mills Lane looks very familiar too - may have seen him on my entertainment news shows, like Extra? Hope he's doing okay ...

And here's Cornell West - is it more fun that he's hung around with Pres. Obama ... or Jay-Z?

Warren Buffett's supposed to like poker too - guess he used to have an annual tournament?
