I would say he's a bit of a pr*ck but that would be the understatement of the year.

Remember when he called a 5-bet for half his stack, hit his two outer on the flop and gave a speech about how Bill Klein could only have AA there so he had to call? lol

Considering English isn't his first language I think it's fair to say it's not clear that Wes is calling Henry stupid when he says "so stupid". In fact I don't think he is calling Henry stupid but I'm generally naive and give people the benefit of the doubt in spots like this. Wes could be commenting the situation was "so stupid", bluffing was "so stupid", or even Henry's fold was "so stupid", but that's not the same as calling Henry stupid. That being said yeah Wes is an annoying smug little prick a lot of the time but I don't hate him for it, he's having fun.

Good point, I did not consider this might be a misunderstanding due to the language barrier

Guy who thinks he's smart, pretending to be dumb, so he can heckle people for not being smart. Sounds a bit dumb.

Wesley goes over the normal limit of trash talk but hes non-threatening and childlike so no one is really going to be offended. If anyone got mad and wanted to fight Wesley over something said, I could very much picture "he's an idiot" being one of the diffusing statements.

Another factor is that most people are not terribly good winners at first. Crypto trading is not some elite science, it's bookmaking without the skill. If you have wealth previously, or can gauge public perception, you can apply yourself (it's a time investment just like any other analytic profession) and profit. Similarly, poker is sometimes difficult to play well, but all the information is out there if you want to improve. He's experiencing success in venues that require minimal work, and he's excited about that. For some, this would trigger reflection on how to treat opponents and whether the occupation was really a great use of their time. For a fool, it's time to laud oneself and heckle opponents.

There is also the history of arguments and offended parties that is constantly in our minds here on the ol internet. If everyone is collectively trying to be more considerate, outliers, whose behavior would make us shrug at worst ten years ago, suddenly becomes "he's gonna get punched in the face one day". In this case people are applying the different social and cultural standards to Wesley. It's the "don't dare disrespect me" bravado that's present in some cultures. If you watch the Triton games though or if you've played in some parts of Asia, heckling immensely after someone loses money or makes a mistake is standard.

In closing, the game is built around him, so he can do whatever he wants

When he first started playing he apparently knew nothing, and acted like a dick because he didn't understand etiquette. He'd force people to show their hands when called after saying "You win, Jack high" or ask to see losing hands, ask people why they made a bad play etc.

Then people like went out of their way to tell him he was being a dick, and if he was going to play high stakes, cool it. And he was "Normal"

Now it seems like he's gone the Airball route where he's just going to be a character, and anything he does that's him being an a-shole is "just having fun"

it's quite clear he's intentionally making derogatory comments. did you not notice his boastful outburst afterwards about him being an artist and that his opponents are not? he's clearly being a douche. wtf? just because he speaks with a heavy accent doesn't mean he doesn't understand the chosen vernacular.

obviously you don't hate him for it because it's entertaining as ****. i'll gladly keep enjoying this loser from a distance.

The answer to your question is quite obviously in the very next sentence after the one you quoted. I appreciate that he entertains me but do not respect him as a person nor his character.

I agree it was reasonable to delete the comments that were out of line, but
why was my comment deleted which suggested a HU battle instead of name calling?

really all that needs to be said about any story ever that is involving fish saying or doing something "wrong" at the table.
