Agreed. I think keeping the charm of 2p2 is important, otherwise it becomes one more sleek faceless website, totally undifferentiated from others. Efficiency of content is important, but people respond intuitively to the spirit of product. Keep the soul of 2p2 IMO.

Maybe use AI to ban and unban posters.

Since I'm now just a poster, I wanted to stay out of this thread so as not to take anything away from our new owners. However, since they may not be familiar with Limon, let me make a couple of comments.

First, I always liked Limon and thought that he had important things to say about poker even if I didn't always agree. I even appeared on his podcast a few years ago and thought he did a good job with the interview and I was happy to be a guess on his show. Perhaps someone can find the link to the podcast that I appeared on.

However, Limon, in general, didn't do well with a number of our moderators. About a year after he was banned I talked to several of our moderators about possibly bringing him back, but the answer I receivied was that doing this would be a big mistake. So, his ban was never lifted. Perhaps our new owners might want to look into this.

Also, I've lost track of exactly what Limon is doing today. Is he still in poker and does he still have a podcast?

Evidently, the power goes out.

One thing I don't understand - why build AI just to moderate here? Why not just recruit some extant poker bots to moderate instead? Maybe that way they will start to post as well. As far as I know, we have never had poker playing AI contribute here, and since they are a vital part of the poker ecosystem it seems like they would be a great addition to our community.

Also, I am a little concerned about the silence in response to widspread calls for the creation of an Economics forum. Alarming.

You should definitely unban Limon. At the same time Limon needs to learn how to behave and maybe put down the drink once in a while.

SevenCard aka TBC's point regarding conservatives being banned/censored should not be dismissed. There has been a huge leftist slant to much of this site and if one doesn't subscribe to the group think then that person is ostracized and/or banned. I was banned from the NVG Covid thread very early on for having the view that the economic consequences of shutting down the economy could be extremely dire (not that crazy of a view, tbh).

BTW, can we be unbanned from particular subforums? For instance, I used to give good advice in the Casino Live Poker forums but was banned from it for reasons I don't recall (although I believe my ban was upheld in large part because a moderator from that subforum viewed me as part of a group of posters from Live Low Stakes that he dubbed the "****** pen.")

for all the folks who think we don't need mods on 2+2 I just remind you of Rec.Gambling.Poker which was a primary vehicle for poker discussion prior to 2+2.
