What does asianflushie say his stars name is? Has he commented at all on his ban? If so, I've missed it.

I actually think cheet may have played the best of anyone lol, as much as he is down and getting coolered, he's made some big folds and lost the min in a lot of spots. He also made by far the sickest call in the match (and was right). His counterpart doug is getting max value but has run bad on a lot of his bluffs/bluff catchers in that the bot had the top of the range. I feel bad that random twitch people see cheet down so much and are like omghesux!

For sake of argument if deep blue won in ~1995 and it takes 25 years from then for a computer to then beat the best in the world in any poker variant, anyone have an idea what the next frontier to be crushed vs. humanity in another 25 years, by the year 2045 would be?

Would it possibly be something like john oliver-esque comedy or fine dining or some different wave length? Sorry about the tangent just curious on people's opinions.

sex workers from japan obv

Comedy seems a bit too nuanced. With where vocal-less electronic music is going, and the ability to "crowdsource" reviews, i could see a bot making music equal or better than humans at some point.

ON the subject.

The whole thing looks like a (AGI)artificial general intelligence research. The bot never had a chance.

I dont understand that comment. the bot went from 115k behind to just 60k behind and its just the beginning (12k of 80k hands). and every human lost money to it on day 3 according to data on the university site

the bot seems to have a chance. right

this flushie guy is ****ing good, saw the hand real time, he made a read from the bot's raise size on the flop and layed down saying bot has TT.

i dont get it, 16.5 hands played and bot is down a bit more than 10bb/100, Björn gave him clownshoes yesterday. (60k) is a very outdated result.

I don't think the Brains accept my suggestion (I hope the opposite though) but I would like to offer analysing assistance for the hands they have played. (I am doing it for my poker students too)

If I can get the hands in any format I can handle (any text format or similar I can convert with some converter that I can make if it is necessary) I can give a report about changes in bot daily gameplan, preflop and postflop ranges and tendencies and ofc can suggest a counter strategy/tactic if needs.

I think it is unfair if the Brains don't have the same opportunity as the bot has - analysing hands daily bases and adjust strategy.

(I know the Brains has probably better players than I am, this is not about it, just simply I can put work in this project that maybe the Brains don't have right now - and even chess champions have secundants (assistance) at a championship)

yeah sorry , was looking at the university site and the last standings was at the 12k hand mark. maybe they should update that.

no need to be harsh.

I just wanted to offer a (free) service because I want the Brains to win badly. (and actually if you would be serious I have more than enough coached players right now)

yes, but a few years ago there were some opinion they cannot if humans prepare well. (the best computers play over 3200 elo the best humans around 2800-2900 which is a pretty huge difference.

It's so fun to watch. I don't know how you guys agreed to play for 14 days 8 hours straight every day with the kind of opportunities you have elsewhere but I am certainly happy you did. The show is great and everyone is fun to watch on Twitch. It seems you are also showing the bot where its place is which is fantastic

Wouldn't get carried away just yet. The bot can supposedly learn and after being belted in the first session the bot is on a near 100k upswing winning by more every session. Beating every player since then other than flushie who has broken even since then.

Clearly too early to tell anything but it's pretty fascinating.

EDIT: Didn't see latest results, bot got pumped today.

After chess and poker, my guess is that the game of go / baduk / weiqi will be the next area that AI researchers will put their minds to. It is supposedly the most complex game, with the number of possible games exceeding the number of atoms in the universe.

Japanese officers who aspire to become generals to this day are required a dan grade in Go. I read that there is a problem (position) which is like 200 years old, not been solved, and where the experts do not even agree if black or white has the better position ...

Humans (not to forget: some of the very best we have) play vs bot w/o rake and are up 10bb/100, so would be up considerably less with rake.

Unfortunately I haven't been able so far to follow the challenge very closely, but have watched parts of the first day. Given the above numbers, the bot isn't half-bad, it seems ... Some here make it seem like the AI guys are getting spanked much worse than they actually are ?!

I really hope they release the bot at some point online to give others a chance to play vs it.

It seems like the evil empire have an edge vs it atm but be interesting to see if the bot can adjust it's strategy and become better towards the end of the challenge
