This would be a good idea also considering Dong and WCG are prob closer together in terms style/strat.

Do you even battle any top 10 regs at 25/50?

My point is Klink>you which is why I was wondering why they picked you to play and not jmo

If that's the case, why would the bot wait until the end of the day to adjust?

There was also a moment when Doug was trying to explain the basics of nut/bluffs vs bluff catchers game to the author, it didn't go so well ("I don't have many jacks in my range so it payoffs to bet bigger with value and bluffs vs me", "but you wouldn't call a bigger bet, would you?").

I mean srsly.. all this doesn't add up. It looks like huge misunderstanding to me.
It doesn't add up to me either. Perhaps the bot is using all it's power/time to estimate river ranges? Certainly adding small or min bets at every opportunity is going to significantly increase the game tree and make things harder for the bot.
Maybe they trying to build a 'good' ai that is transferable to other fields? Rather than just winning the challenge.

With some cfr, that kind of processing power and some simple 'poker smarts' it seems it should be relatively straight forward winning a challenge like this.

Along those lines, in order to make the game tree larger, I think the humans should also be min 3b flops as often as possible.

Likely because of insufficient computing power. It takes up to three minutes to decide what to do on the river each hand!

i don't know, but i have a few guesses.

1. the new strats take a long time to compute.
2. the new strats are computed off-site using larger computers than what are present in the casino.
3. it's just some random rule of the challenge (seems least likely, i'd imagine there's a reason)

edit: just started

I don't get one thing. As far as I've read the articles/news and interviews (Q&As) the bot is "advertised" as a GTO bot. How can that be a GTO bot when it takes so long to compute the river solution. My **** PC computes a river solution in less than a sec and they use 64 cores and 512 GB. So either their solver is crap slow or they are computing some kind of exploitative strat and not a GTO strat at all.

Stream is up btw.

The competition is just a level by the programmers to let four top pros help them to program their software.

bot playing faster on the river, i bet the crafty programmers did something to shorten game trees with that flop min donk

Yeah its playing way faster on river, much more fun to watch this way. Im sure it's just variance but bot is up during this session so far so maybe it's playing better (I just started watching so didn't see the hands. WCG is saying he bluffed off a stack or something).

Flushie correctly folded a flush on a paired board to a check raise on river, bot at the other table got stacked on that hand

I enjoyed it more when it tanked to be honest, because WCGRider spent alot of time talking about the hand, and what he hoped and not hoped for during tanks whenever he went into the rivertank OOP aswell etc.

He aired his thoughts, with teammates, with us and floormen/prof, instead of just grinded it.

I don't remember exactly, but something like flushie had Qxcc on button, raise call. flop 523cc, check, bet, call. turn 5 of clubs, check bet call. River ace. check, flushie bet pot, (2600 into 2600), bot raised to 10,600, flushie folded. Bot had A5.
