I've said it before and I'll say it again. If poker players had gotten together and been willing to take the gloves off, poker would have been a reality long ago. Nobody in office cares about online polls. They care about one thing, money. Money for re-election, and money when they leave office from people they've done services for. If poker players started a PAC with a huge sum of money and made it clear they were going to go after and destroy, politically and personally, the politicians who opposed poker, it would be passed in a heartbeat. That's how AIPAC wins, that's how the NRA wins, that's how the big boys play the game. As long as knuckleheads support organizations like the PPA that think signing petitions and sending tweets is effective, nothing will be accomplished. You might as well write a letter to Obama expressing your indignation. I applaud the people from the PPA for their willingness to devote their time and efforts to getting poker legalized, but the road to hell is paved by good intentions. When poker players get together and form a PAC that is devoted to funding primary opponents of people on every level, local, state, and federal, that oppose poker, and investing in private investigators and biographers to full investigate the background and dirty laundry of those legislators opposed to poker, you'll be shocked at the celerity in which they act to legalize it.
I was worried that we were winning on the votes but losing on the comments so I clicked on the comment tab and am happy to report while I didn't read all the comments all but one of the ones I did read were positive toward the question.
