views on snap bets? views on snap bets?

So I tend generally view snap bets as very strong (i think most of you will agree). I find that russian and >ukranian< regs especially are very rarely snap betting bluffs and their range is usually nutted or top value at least, maybe its just selective memory but I've drawn this conclusion after a lot of trial and error and always take notes whenever I see showdown vs snap bets and very rarely find myself making a note 'snap bet as bluff' vs regs (especially against most eastern europeans). I never understood why they do this, imo they've lost/are losing a ton of value vs players who are aware.

I find a lot of regs snap bet very obvious polarized value bets and take time with bluffs and thinner value bets which take a bit more thought. I honestly think this is the biggest universal leak of even strong regs in 2017, or possibly even the all time biggest general leak.

Recently I was talking to a micro reg who I'm helping out a bit and he told me he tends to snap bet with strong hands since it seems more bluffy/tilts players and when he's bluffing takes his time to size his bet. I told him imo its the complete opposite of what he's trying to represent.

I would just like to hear peoples general views on snap bets and if you fall into these category of players why do you do it? I find people tend not to emphasize timing tells much anymore and I'm not saying you should always be folding the top of your range vs regs who are snap betting but I personally will lean much more towards the fold button in tougher spots when facing a snap bet. I'm just wondering why people do this like do they not realize they're losing value (imo that is), or do they believe they're getting more calls, if so are they?

You'll want to move this topic to one of the strategy forums, probably small stakes NL or Live Low Stakes NL

will do, but isn't this topic better suited here since this is more of a view than actual theory strat?

I make it a point to bet quickly when bluffing, to represent strength. Like I didn't have to think about it.

Most players are probably a level below that--they are actually betting quickly because they have nothing to thing about. This being especially true when their hand was 'made' on the flop or turn, and they can snap bet pot or shove or whatever.

Snap doing anything in poker is probably a mistake
