I've played 9-handed 5-card 2-board PLO live, the rule is there are no burn cards and the first person who isn't straddling is not getting dealt in. Button cannot straddle, so it would often just be straddles all the way to cutoff

one-max, no limit
button raise: two cards? all in!
showdown, win, drop rake.

Because if it is 9-handed instead of 10-handed OMC's pay more blinds before they get to limpraise aces.

Or how about 2 dealers, deals each card to you at the same time so its faster.. one burns the other turns also its much faster to clear the muck, im sure the hourly saved on this would be worth it for the casino.

Then instead of individual tables we just have one huge table that everyone in the poker room sits at and have like 20 decks and play 205 handed?

it's basic schooling theory. the more loose passive limpers there are, the less of a mistake calling $5 with JTo before the flop becomes. plus a ten handed game complete with coffee housing means fewer hands per hour which in turn decreases each player's hourly loss rate

Nitting is just too annoying in full ring, as one doesn't know before one knows. Make it 8-max and we can still have a double amount of fish and some more action. Nitting is far less annoying in shorthanded games. Not sure one even needs a HUD playing shorthanded but I don't play online full ring tourneys w/o a HUD.

Just played a 10 handed tournament table for 6 hours. The guys either side of me weren't aware of the space shortage and their arms were taking up twice as much room as they should of been. And of course it turns the game into a nit fest.

10 handed are better for the players than casino as rake is more diluted between each player so each player plays less in rake assuming the average pot size etc is all the same

ie: if the hourly is 300 in rake than 300 / 10 = 30 is better than 300 / 9 = 33.3

But yea space and smelly peeps is a thing
