$7,000 I'm sure is way more than the guy had ever had related to poker and that amount was certainly at least 4-5 months of income at his day job.

Of course, he played at that table until he went broke. So in one day, I witnessed in real time, a guy make five months income and then lose it again.
happens all the time on french network, some NL400+ tables may form around a complete donk, and usually the donk busts, but even when he wins he continues to play, until he busts in the end

A nit who's a millionaire.

Who cares what he play's, he's been there and done that. Maratik doesn't need to prove anything, he's set up for life hopefully and still enjoying the stakes he's playing. If anything he's a role model for the little guys.

Just opened a completely random tournament and table from the lobby to try new themes and who do I see..

I7AXA table c/l of Bronzestar 10 FPP Holdem [Turbo, $500 Prize Pool]

pretty sad reminder of a sad thread.

Maratik is a hero! This guy is an idiot. Seeing his Sharkscope now upsets me.

Second, my sort-of-personal experience.

I knew a guy that used to play poker on the same site as me, and he mostly was grinding NL50 and some NL25. Just had no concept of BRM, never had more than 200-300 in his account. Once a month or so he'd just deposit his crappy paycheck online, then spend the month donking it off.

So one day he's playing NL50 and sees a known big whale sitting at a NL400 and NL1000 table. His greed gets the better of him and he sits at the NL400 table, not even a full buyin. He wins a few big pots after awhile and then takes his whole roll - about $700 - up to the NL1000 table. He played there for something like 12 hours (I remember it well, I was playing there as well thanks to a deep pocketed whale) at at one point had his stack up to almost $7,000.

Of course, he played at that table until he went broke. So in one day, I witnessed in real time, a guy make five months income and then lose it again. I saw him at the poker tables a few times after that, then he stopped showing up. These days, I only see him on Skype.
This scenario was quite common back when online poker had more fish. I used to see guys who would get third pair in against a total rock and suck out. Then run up a level and hit again, etc until they had a few k in winnings. Eventually the math would catch up to them and you would never see the donk again.

Thread is sheer insanity. I cannot believe to this day he's still playing Bronzestar FPP qualifiers. Graph just makes me wince but we all know people that would do the same....maybe not with 150k though

If I ever bink something like this first thing I'd do is set up a meet with some financial advisor and just straight up ask for the biggest gambling budget he would recommend, add 10k, hit the PLO tables and gogogo
