Everyone told me that bet was ******ed so I decided to take that bet off the table. People were saying it was suspicious and I didn't want to be suspicious

Not exactly. Ivey already made the November 9 in 2009.

Was it actually the November 9 back then?

I just looked and the November 9 started in 08 apparently

He also got busted out by Moneymaker in 10th in 2003 in a hand with two redraws hitting. He has made other deep runs since the big fields started.

Just can't see it happening again. TBH Ivey is pretty boring to watch and I don't want to see the wsop of all Ivey coverage yet again. He plays really well, runs well, never makes huge mistakes. He's the best of the best. But at the table the guy has almost no personality. Back in 2009 I found Jeff Shulman to be more humorous and engaging to watch. I also prefer not to see any more of that annoying old couple.

Lets get Stephen Graner, Dan Smith, Mikiyo Aoki, Maria Ho, Vitaly Lunkin and some internationals to the FT this year. Lets see some new energy, personality, and crazy hands.

Ivey is boring to watch That's just insulting and offensive. Whats your beef with towards the beautiful Humphreys, they've overcome a lot of REAL life challenges (cancer) and followed Ivey his whole career. Watch High stakes Poker re-runs if you want entertainment/personalities.

To call him boring is a bit of an overstatement. I do enjoy watching him run over people and find creative ways to get max value. However does that mean I want 50 percent Ivey coverage like we had in 2009? No way. Unless we get another horrid crop of dull players like in 2012, I want to see a nice spread of coverage.

2010 had only 1 big name (Grinder) but was infinitely more enjoyable to watch because you had that crazy Italian, Joe Cheong (better than Ivey at NLHE MTT) Duhamel was super aggressive risk taker, that Amateur playing his first tourney who took the chip lead.

In 2009 it was all Ivey and Moon. And I enjoyed watching Moon a lot more. Only 2012 was a worse main event to watch.

Ivey chomping on that apple was the single most badass/hilarious thing I've seen in poker, the movie equivalent of turning your back on an explosion. That's the Ivey factor, his fan's health history is 100% irrelevant.

Darn. Not much reason to watch now

Edit: nothing posted about it on the updates ...

Edit edit: here it is:
Quote:
From under the gun, John Kabbaj raised to 20,000, and then action folded over to Phil Ivey in the hijack seat. Ivey, who won his 10th gold bracelet earlier this summer, reraised to 55,000. Everyone folded back over to Kabbaj, and he made the call to see the flop.

After the dealer spread the 9h 9c 2d, Kabbaj checked. Ivey checked behind, and the turn brought the 2h. With two pair now on board, Kabbaj led with a bet of 80,000. Ivey had around 275,000 behind and took his time to study Kabbaj. Ivey's stare was piercing, and he eventually pushed his entire stack forward for an all-in bet. Kabbaj called quickly.

When the two hands were revealed, it was Kabbaj's Jd Jh against Ivey's Ac Kd. As the cameras surrounded the table and the action was halted until everyone set up to get the shots, Ivey sat stoically, in need of an ace or a king on the river to keep his Main Event run alive.

The dealer burned one final time and completed the board with the 5c. Ivey was up, out of his chair, and through the exit immediately, only stopping for some brief few seconds to pick up his top-heavy chair that toppled over after his got up out of his seat. His run ended in 430th place for $25,756, and Kabbaj climbed to 1.4 million in chips.

A sample size of 1 isn't remotely indicative of a good or bad bet fwiw

Yikes

That's not a great way to go out. Pretty sure he could've found a much better spot.
