Its impossible to say who the best in the world is because there are so many different games and some of the stone killers probably keep very low profiles. Garrett is very good though and enjoyable to watch.

Gman used to frequent this site and be active in online community/training sites. I bet he probably has better things to do now. He has the amazing ability even in hu online days to do unconventional things which make him appear weaker then other players he actually crushes. I imagine his win rate vs weaker players is higher then “stronger” players win rate vs those weaker players because he makes better and unconventional adjustments that those players won’t even consider.

Yeah, calling a 500bb all-in on the river with something like the 10th nuts (I didn´t actually count ...) has to be standard in this spot.

If you were to hold him to such a high esteem as OP does this type of call should be standard for the best live NL cash game player.

You must not have seen much.

I've seen Gman massage the shoulders of a timid player. He has a positive relationship with Nick V, pays respect to Bill Klein, trolls Art, destroys Berkey, and has something going on with Andy too. He might be the furthest thing from a dry poker player as there is.

Is Garret another Mike Postle?

Gman is hilarious to play with, when he's not terrifying you.

I was playing at Commerce 10/20 deep quite a few years back. Played quite a bit over a few weeks and never saw him but knew who he was. One day he sits down and within about 5 hands of sitting down I end up bluffing the river for a few thousand on a 4 suit board no idea what it was but repping A high flush, he raises me and I am 100% sure he does not have it just based on his reputation for being crazy and him obv never seeing before thus knowing/assuming I am a noob. All I wanted to do was shove so badly. Safe to say I folded like a bit.ch and he insta showed me the bluff. Loved him before and loved him after. My favourite player to watch on you tube and would much rather be him than me. Well played Garret on nailing life in every aspect. Very inspirational human being.

A reporter once asked Paul McCartney if Ringo was the best drummer in the world and Paul said he wasn't even the best drummer in the band

If he only plays juicy private games (outside of LATB) then none of that matters.
Stop saying juicy

OP holds so much high esteem for Garrett that at the last tourney he played they said the bet is 12k to you sir and he said I raise my esteem for Garrett and they said let's call the floor but really high-fived and I think winked because they knew they didn't even have that much in the safe and let OP raise that much even though he had been out of the tourney for hours

Those of you pumping me up: Always deeply appreciative of the love, however exaggerated it may be.

Those of you throwing a bit of shade: You are correct. I’m no wizard/I run insane, etc. I’ve never claimed otherwise.

Through outrageously good fortune, poker is a small but overwhelming positive aspect of my life. Given the immense challenges associated with earning a living through poker, I wish you all the same in the future. ❤️

Hey Garrett. I wanted to ask you in person what you think will happen to the LA card rooms (i.e. like the Bike, for example) as far as this california gambling legislation that's been happening the past couple months, but, wasn't sure if it would be weird to walk up to you right when you are entering/exiting the high stakes room at the Bike, lol. So, since you're in here right now, I guess I'll just ask about it here.

Do you think this stuff is gonna destoy the Bike and the other major LA rooms, or probably not? I assume you are more in-the-know about it than most and probably have more contact/interaction with high level casino ppl than the avg person (might be an incorrect assumption), so maybe you might know how seriously I should be taking this banker rule-change legislation stuff. I've been very stressed out about it the past couple months ever since I found out about it.

Well, gl man, I've really enjoyed watching you play on LATB, and it's actually literally what got me back into poker last year after being away from the game ever since Black Friday. I stumbled on LATB one day on youtube randomly and that was literally what got me back into everything, lol. Keep doing your thing, man! It's fun to watch

Spoken like a true gentleman hustler.

Good luck on future games.

I have no idea if GMan is the best because we'd have to further define the metrics for what makes someone "the best".

But, I will say this: I gave up my PokerGo subscription because their lineups are so painfully boring! I got sick & tired of the current pros with ZERO personality at the table (Marchese, goose, etc, etc). But I will watch an LATB with GMan in it because he brings fun back into the poker broadcasts. The other pros out there are so dry but GMan knows how to work the table and I appreciate that about him.

Gman... Solid response. Not gonna lie I was skeptical of your play for a while but you seem to be crushing and have changed the way I look at some overbets. Also really loved the Joey Ingram podcast where you opened up about mental health and depression. See you at the Bike one day buddy.

He's definitely a very, very good player and he does run pretty well on latb. A lot of best vs. 2nd best hands.
I would love to see him play in the Triton games.
Can't see him not doing well in those.

It was John Lennon that people have said made that statement, and there is no evidence to show that he ever said it, even in a humorous way. [Source]

I never told anybody this, about eight nine months ago, I'm at the Bike it's late and I see Gman walk in and he goes and sits in the three hundred six hundred section and the whole place stops and everybody puts an eye on him, after a while there wasn't a crap going on because all the high rollers are over there watching and some of them playing but they're giving their money to him and say "oh", I played with the world champion", you know what I did?

I sat down. Played tight for an hour, folded mostly then I made a score. I had nothing, but he raised and I decided I don't care about the money, I'm just going to out play the guy, I'm going to out play this guy, this hand, I'll re-raise. he comes back over the top at me trying bully me like I'm some tourist, I hesitate for like two seconds then I'll re-raise and he makes a move to his checks and he looks at me, check his cards and looks at me again, and he mucked it, I took it down.

I got up and walked to the cashier, I sat with the best in the world, and I won.

Obviously you are a good player but I don’t think you can live up to OP’s version of you. If you were that guy you could have beat mike Postle with him knowing your whole cards lol.
