This guy plays against the top pros in LA and crushes all of their souls. He NEVER loses a pot.

Garrett Adelstein uses napkin blow reverse tell (at 5:32) to get paid off in huge pot

Garrett Adelstein elite table talk facing big river decision with 4th pair

Garrett Adelstein teaches online pros how to talk to fish during a live poker hand

The way that Garrett cultivates his image at the table causes him to get paid off in spots where no one else in the world would, he knows when and WHO he can apply pressure to and also knows when not to, and his use of elite table talk while in and out of the hand is some thing that cannot be learned by reading a book or studying in the lab, only by years of practice, and having a natural charisma that less than 5% of people have.

makes perfect sense that a thread of this quality is started by someone with that username.

There's GTO (game theory optimal).

There's CTO (crotch theory optimal)...thanks Postle.

Now there's NTO (napkin theory optimal)...thanks Adelstein.

I remember when he started playing at CAZ. Pretty quickly the regs reached a consensus that he was a LAGy action junky on a heater. They started waiting for him to go broke. Eventually some of the regs went broke, but for some reason Garrett never did.

I played 6 handed with him once. Just raise, raise, raise, raise, raise, then when I finally get something he checks back the flop. After that hand I quit due to excess perspiration. I clearly don't mind feeling the fool, but I draw the line at wrecking a perfectly good shirt.

when ur playing ppl that call 80k into a small pot with 1 pair i mean i guess i could potentially be the best in the world.

He's very good, and VERY, entertaining, but not even close to Trueteller/Jungleman/Linus who automatically is better even though he has only recently played a tiny bit of live.

Sorry OP

i Don’t even think it’s clear Garret is the best player in LA.
He runs the best (by far) and plays very good, but I’m not convinced that he’s actually better than guys like Dan Zack or Art because of LOL sample size.

Outside of LA:
Andrew Robl comes to mind as a live player id rather have a piece of in any live games.

Also the 3 guys mentioned above.

I'm confused didn't Martin crush Garret's soul in the second vid posted?

Gman is very, very, very good however the friday LATB lineup isn't the best pros in LA. The best LA pros play homegames not casino games and don't play against each other often. I can think of a couple LA players who could probably beat Gman but the questions are, would Gman give them action (probably yes) and would they pass up other games to give Gman action (probably no) or to play on a livestream (definitely no). He is definitely the best player in this livestream lineup of regulars.

Gman has carved out a good little niche for himself as the king of a castle nobody wants to conquer. The Friday high stakes lineup itself is often bad and reg heavy. It's also streamed so a lot of crushers don't want to play on there and show every hand they play. Even the recreational players like Bill Klein and Nick Vertucci have risen to a pretty good level of play. There are way softer games for a very good player to be in. Art is very good as well but he is a super TAG which limits his winrate, which is OK for him because that's how you should be playing in a game with a super LAG like Gman. Dan Zack as the GTO robot I would assume would be the 4th biggest winner over time in this game, behind Gman and Art and Silent Andy. Andy has been leaking a little bit lately but his willingness to sit for infinity blinds deep and constant presence means he would have a higher winrate than Zack.

Martin is the worst player in this rotating lineup though.

Is Martin still playing nosebleeds? I love the heart he showed by binking that tourney and immediately playing high stakes

Bill Klein being involved for no reason in that hand and then tanking for no reason on the river makes Andy's bluff work a lot better. Garrett has to be thinking that if Bill folded a highish spade, then what was Andy in the hand with? Garrett's hand is kind of face up as played. Andy doesn't need J9 here he could be shoving any boat or quads or a straight flush for value and there's two of them. It's a really sick blocker play by Andy he's blocking the boats, quads and the straight flushes, vs a kind of face up nut flush. It's part of the edge Andy has in this game that I alluded to earlier. There's few players willing to sit for $100k in this game and far fewer willing to ship $100k into $33k on a blocker bluff. I would still expect Garrett to win more money over time but it's ability like this that makes Andy a winning player in the game too.

Andy still lost a huge amount in this session tho.

I wonder if GA get invites to juicy private games based on his LATB appearances?
You would think being constantly streamed would hurt him against other sharp players but that only works if he plays against good/thinking players.
If he only plays juicy private games (outside of LATB) then none of that matters.

didnt he fold a top set to a chinese vip?

He's a solid reg for his stakes(which is still high stakes) but nowhere close to top tier imo.
