Here's a little douchebag story about MJ that I read in a book about a golfer who was writing about trying to make a go of it on the mini-tours. So, the author is playing a mini-tour round with a 20 something talented black golfer.

These golfers sometimes get funded by outside investors to help get their career going early on. The black golfer tells him a story about a meeting that was setup for him with Michael Jordan. Jordan showed interest in funding him and had him down to his home course for a round to see how he played. Once he got there Jordan told him that they would play for $500 and that Jordan who was a 2-3 handicap would get 6 strokes. The golfer was there to impress so agreed and played well, carding a 69. Jordan played better (73). He didn't think Jordan would take his money, but he did and he told the young golfer: "Thanks, I was going to eat hot dogs tonite, but now I think I'll have steak." He never heard from Jordan again about the funding.
