Either that, or they are just showing the back catalog of PAD, and that's who happens to be on those old episodes.

Just focusing on this "2007 level of production" line. Which is completely nuts.

Every minute of programming on PokerGo is superior to 2007 levels of production. Fake cherry-picked programs that air on bought advertorial time on obscure cable networks and broadcast 1/15 hands on a months-plus delay is no standard at all.

Except for the widely decried ESPN WSOP broadcasts, practically all of the rest of poker programming was effectively no different than an advertorial for Dr Ho's back massager or the Bass-O-Matic 76.

In terms of what will happen for this year's WSOP - remember the whole deal was only announced at the 11th hour last year - I was already in Vegas for events when it was first made available to sign up for a sub. Of course their scheduling was kind of screwy - they literally were running about a day ahead of their schedule. I haven't seen a schedule for this year yet, but I have to assume that having had significant time to plan, they're going to find a better balance this time around.

I can't believe that people are complaining over $10 a month. So you sign up for 2 months and pay $20 for coverage?

I think it will only get better from here. I will agree that their UI needs a lot of work though.

Were you here from ~2011 to 2016? They used to live stream almost every final table with a relatively primitive and cheap setup. Most people complaining about the WSOP side of things at PokerGo are referring to that. I'm sure some of them would pay $10/mo. to go back to the old way. I would consider it.

Why can't they just deliver a quality stream the way pokerstars does on twitch?

Pushing all that rake stuff aside, they do a great job on the live streams. Very entertaining to watch.

PokerStars only has to worry about streaming a few events per stop. They may have have a few dozen side events, but nobody is going to care too much if those aren't covered.

Both Stars and PokerGo focus on a small number of events, and do them extremely well. But that's only appropriate for one of these companies.

As long as Tuchman is commentating it will be terrible. It doesn't really matter if it's hosted on wsop.com or pokergo.

When it went to " pay for view" I let it go. I thought I might miss it, but I don't. ESPN limited coverage and final table is all I need from the WSOP. I think many of us have just moved on. Still it's cool that PokerGo is doing what they do for the folks still very interested.

Has there been any sort of mention of a schedule yet of the events that are going to be streamed?

BTW even though they did not cover all the final tables last year the quality was quite high. Much higher than in the previous years we are comparing them to 2011-2016.

A couple of ideas.

Tattoo 'PokerGo Sucks' on your wiener and then make a sex tape with a celebrity (male or female - let's keep in inclusive)

Go to Vegas and rail a final table wearing a Tshirt with the slogan 'Why pay $10 and see the all the holecards when you can stand here and see nothing?'

Thread has potential.

this post might go down as one of the worst of the day, grats. not only is this not funny but this post accomplishes nothing, and you wasted your time posting it. you might be better off staying away from this thread before you get exposed for being pretty pretty not smart.

What would you prefer? The WSOP increase rake even more to subsidise?
Just because they spent a ton of money in previous years doesn't entitle you to it in perpetuity.

As for SS saying it was just three cameras on sticks and Tuch in a cupboard, it clearly wasn't. They had RFID for starters.

I agree it sucks that you have to pay to watch poker.... but how are you planning on boycotting them??? By not watching any of the streams you are already not watching because you don't want to pay???

If they added a chatbox so we can chat with others while we watch it would improve the experience tremendously.

LOL how much do you think an RFID kit costs? Have you looked into this before? I have.

RFID cost around 5k to 7K plus all the software to make it work is around 10K investmen tand licenses are only for one year.

comments like these I wonder if people used to watch the older wsop streams that were free, hell even bluffs from back in 08. not only was it free and the stream never had issues, but they would literally stream ALL but 3 events, and only like 6 events had no commentary.

again, dont peopel remember the amount of events that were covered when it was free? i just checked pokergos schedule, they are covereing 20 some events, which is nice. but only 3 are non holdem lol

Right. That's really not very much money.

I wasn't exaggerating about webcams on a stick, btw. Having seen it in person many times, they appeared to be standard Logitech webcams mounted onto monopods. The biggest expense by far would have to have been Tuch's salary, plus maybe one producer.

PokerGo could silence a lot of haters simply by doing exactly this with the side events they deem less important (like the $50k Player's Championship LOL) and continue blowing lots of money on their featured final tables.

When did they first start streaming live side events on wsop.com, not on ppv ESPN 360 or the like?

I've been watching on wsop.com for, what, 5 years? Are you saying I missed a load of previous years?

I'd pay more than $10/mo for it considering PGo is $10/mo. My PGo subscription has been gone since around last November though and I don't anticipate resubbing this year if there aren't changes.

I don't think people don't like what's on PGo for the most part. I think they just want improvements which isn't too much to ask.

it was split between wsop.com and bluff when I watched, iirc, around 09. i have no ****ing clue what happened to bluff but they stremed a couple events, i vividly remember watching their coverage fo the 6max tourney with hole cards on 35min delay or something like that, had to have been in 09

literally freee wsop coverage has been gogin on for AT LEAST 8 years now on the internet. most of the events too.
