I'm no fan of Annie Duke, but why, specifically, do we want to see her banned? I mean, don't we WANT to play against the DB's in open events and take their money? I don't know... "banning" her seems so un-poker-like to me. I mean, back in the day, if Doyle hated some DB for one thing or another, do you really think he'd say, "Let's ban that DB from the game!" ??? NO! He'd say, "Call that DB up and tell him to come on over and play and let's fleece that DB!!!"

IMO, the only people who should be banned from games are those who are proven cheaters. If Hitler wants to sit in the game and isn't running a scam on it, let him. I want his money, and I want to make it as unpleasant as possible for him while he's losing it to me.

Once you start in with, "Well, we should have a WSOP Ethics Committee to decide who gets to play and who doesn't get to play," you've put yourself on a VERY slippery slope. All we have to do is look at the committee that was set up for that Epic Poker's Player League bs (or whatever it's called) that Annie started... How did that work out?! It didn't! I don't follow tournament poker all that closely because I don't play it, but I remember reading how everyone was up in arms about this decision or that decision by that Epic Poker committee--a ton of perceived unfairness and inequities, which ultimately rendered that brand name sht ("If they're gonna punish x for doing such and such, how can they NOT punish z for the same thing?!). Soon, the decisions of the Epic committee were perceived by the larger poker community as being based on personal politics and perceived conflicts of interest. (Wasn't there one decision that was based on money owed by a player to a board member or something? I mean, I remember all the Chino sht with the markers and all that... Is THAT what we want?! To ban every "meanie" from the Main who is a lowlife degen with markers out?). Part of what makes the WSOP so great is that its a well-respected brand, known for its integrity. God forbid the WSOP be perceived in any manner akin to the Epic League!

Anyway, McCarthyism is totally un-poker-like. We don't need any damn committee. Let anyone who's got the money--including Annie, the Queen DB--sit down and play. I mean, when was the last time Annie won anything anyway... Let her put up her dead money! As a group, the poker community is pretty damn good at regulating its own--*******s get exposed for what they are and are ostracized accordingly (e.g., Russ H.). Finally, I imagine that the endless inquiries, ribbing, and needling at the table from people who want their money back from her brother would render any experience she may have in the Main Event sufficiently unpleasant, no?

i dont think she should be banned from the wsop. i think we just need to banish her as a community and make sure everyone does their part in alienating her. and stop effing participating in her god damn poker ventures.( apologies to religious ppl for taking lords name in vein ) and apologies to anyone who i might have offended with spelling mistakes. i know how crucial that can be for some ppl

The thing that really gets me most peeved about Annie (and her brother, for that matter) is her affectation for being humble or modest, when, in fact, she is neither. I do not like it when otherwise smart people hold a secret belief that they're superior--the smartest people know that each and every person on this Earth has something to teach. Annie and Howard act as though they have nothing to learn from anyone.
