you live on a world that is 4/5's covered in water that is MILES deep.
Using water IS NOT wasting water.
water evaporating is not loosing water, it's changing its 'state' to gaseous.
Gtfo with 'karen' about water.

The idea that it is okay to misuse water resources because the water remains on the planet in some form is absurd. The amount of potable water in that region is both finite and dwindling.

His reported use of 2,400,000 gallons a year works out to about 100 standard bathtubs full each day. It would fill four Olympic swimming pools. It is a lot of water.

So that means that the average American family uses only 20k gallons per year instead of 100k, and that Brian Rast is using over 100x the average.

Most problems will seem small compared to running out of water. The reason is because the people managing the process are corrupt and incompetent.

In german, "Rast" means taking a break from a long travel or hike. Mostly drinking and eating something to regain some energy.

So yes, he maybe just a very thirsty dude!

I'll take the bait.

Who in the poker community has an ax to grind against Brian Rast?

If the answer is no one, then I would not expect the ChicagoJoey podcast investigation and would not expect this to become a thing outside this thread.

I would say it's those of us who are irritated that someone is actively harming the environment by wasting so much water, not to mention he is doing it in a literal desert. Me, I'm not so agitated by the hypocrisy as much as I am by the wanton disregard for one's own lands.

Much of the water you are referring to is not usable without a tremendous amount of energy being expended to use it. Of course if it comes to that, we will do it, but not without paying a heavy cost.

So more specifically, you'd like a PokerNews reporter to ask Rast about Watergate during his next public poker tournament appearance?

The guy has to lurk here, or at least have associates who have given him a heads up about this thread.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you about this poker player – we're talking about a dude who's using more water in the desert than I've seen at a car wash in a year. I mean, come on, 2.4 million gallons? What's he doing, filling up an Olympic-sized swimming pool every time he hits the flush?

So, this high roller decides, "I'm gonna take my game to the desert, make it exclusive." I'm thinking, "Okay, desert poker, that sounds cool." But this guy, he's treating water like it's the cure for a hangover. I'm like, "Bro, are you trying to turn the Mojave into the Bahamas? You're not a poker player; you're the Aquaman of the casino world!"

And get this, he's out there complaining about the heat like it's a surprise. "Oh, it's so hot in the desert!" No kidding, Captain Obvious! But here's the real shocker – he's sipping water like it's the fountain of youth. I'm like, "Dude, you're not at a poker table; you're at a water fountain, and Mother Nature is not dealing you a winning hand for wasting that much agua."

So, I walk up to him, and I'm like, "Homie, you used 2.4 million gallons in a month! That's not a water bill; that's Niagara Falls flowing through your backyard! You're not the King of Hearts; you're the King of Water Waste!" He looks at me like I just told him he's got a leak in his poker strategy.

And that's when it hits him – he's not just playing poker; he's playing the real high-stakes game with his water bill. Now, every time I see him at the tables, I can't help but think, "This guy's got a royal flush in poker and a royal tsunami in water bills." The desert might be hot, but his water usage is scorching, and that's the real high-stakes game he's playing.

Does anybody else remember during his bracelet ceremony for winning the ppc in the mid 2010s where he used some of his speech to implore us to reduce our environmental impact?

I know but if a fountain uses x gallons of water to fill the first time didn't take x out of the water supply ?

(Verse 1)
Yo, it's the southern sensation, call me the rhyme master,
Brian Rast, he's dealing cards, but he's a water blaster.
Poker face on, but his water bill's a disaster,
2.4 million gallons, man, that's a whole chapter.

Down in the south, where the heat's on blast,
Brian Rast got the water flowin' so fast.
Flushin' out stacks, like he's playing with cash,
But his water bill's risin', it's a watery splash.

(Hook)
Brian Rast, with the water flow so vast,
2.4 million gallons, man, that's a blast.
Cards in hand, but the water's drippin' fast,
In the poker game of life, he's making it last.

(Verse 2)
Texas hold 'em, but his water's overflowin',
Brian Rast at the table, water bills showin'.
He's a high roller, but his faucet keeps goin',
Drownin' in gallons, man, the water's never slowin'.

In the southern sun, where the poker chips gleam,
Brian Rast's water usage, like a wild stream.
A river of liquid, in his poker dream,
But in reality, it's a water-themed scheme.

(Hook)
Brian Rast, with the water flow so vast,
2.4 million gallons, man, that's a blast.
Cards in hand, but the water's drippin' fast,
In the poker game of life, he's making it last.

(Bridge)
From the Mississippi to the Rio Grande,
Brian Rast's water bill, like grains of sand.
Flippin' cards, but his water's out of hand,
In the poker world, he's makin' a stand.

(Verse 3)
Flushin' out troubles, but the water's risin',
Brian Rast, in the poker game, he's surprisin'.
A river of debt, man, it's not surprisin',
2.4 million gallons, it's mesmerizin'.

In the south, where the beats are bangin',
Brian Rast's water bill, it keeps hangin'.
Poker nights and water fights, he's slangin',
But the bills keep comin', like it's never changin'.

(Hook)
Brian Rast, with the water flow so vast,
2.4 million gallons, man, that's a blast.
Cards in hand, but the water's drippin' fast,
In the poker game of life, he's making it last.

(Outro)
Brian Rast, in the poker world's cast,
Water escapades, man, they're so vast.
Flushin' out rhymes, like cards from the past,
In this southern freestyle, we're making it last.

FYP.

97% of the water on Earth is saline. And about two thirds of the remaining 3% is inaccessible; the majority of it is frozen into massive glaciers in Antarctica and Greenland and elsewhere, and the rest is dispersed in the soil or floating around in the form of clouds. Also, as the big glaciers melt, the water they contain will not deposit itself in our reservoirs and pour from our taps; some small part of it will evaporate but most of it will flow into the ocean and become salty.

As for desalinisation, it is so expensive that it is cheaper to bottle water in Fiji and carry it all the way to New York City than it is to purify it.

I don't have it on good authority that this is another Brian Rast, not the poker player. The facts may or may not line up.
