Re: The Twitch Streamboat

Progressive changes to a diet is probably a good idea. But salads aren't inherently good, especially if you add bacon, cheese, croutons, and loads of dressing.. kind of defeats the purpose. If you go that route, you might as well eat something more enjoyable with the same nutritional value/calories like a BLT and fries.

Would imagine that Jaime can eat 2,500 cals a day and comfortably be in a deficit, so a 1,000 calorie meal isn't an issue here imo.

Having said that I do agree that they need a professional in to help them, which I believe they are getting?

i presume jaime was probably eating somewhere around 5-6k calories a day for the last few years, so dropping from 5-6k down to say 2k would be brutal and almost always end in failure for him.

if he drops his calories over say a month or two whilst working out he's going to drop a load of weight quite quickly. I think jaime has got a great chance in dropping around 100lb's in a year, i just don't see matt being able to make the 60-70lb difference. It's impossible (without steroids) to put on 70lb's worth of muscle/weight in a year on a "clean bulk" which is what matt was implying on twitter once the bet had been confirmed.

Re: The Twitch Streamboat

You can consider 16% BF a cleanish bulk

my first year i went from 120-130 to 185 with around 15-16% bf and i didnt have all the free time/money he has.
It's really easy for someone skinny if they simply start filling themselves up on every meal.

He's already 20lbs~ underweight, that leaves 40lbs of extra muscle/fat to get there which is really easy on your first year if you have 0 muscle mass, which he does.

Re: The Twitch Streamboat

Skinny Matt is probably just psychologically scared and embarrassed of gaining weight/ getting fat like his brother.

And I saw his clean bulk comment which is obviously terrible for this bet. Lol Diet Coke. Even if he does clean bulk there is no way he is going to be eating anywhere near enough cals.

I think it would be extremely telling to see what Matt is eating for breakfast

I'm pretty sure after this first month their odds have gotten worse

I hope this is just 1 of 7 or 8 meals he'll be eating that day.

He needs to take a page out of Jaime's book. More bacon, more cheese, more carbs.

Jumbo is having your typical fat peoples 'I'm eating healhty diet' where they order a salad and fill it with bacon, cheese and dressing.

Re: The Twitch Streamboat

ketogenic diet is just stupid. its not good for you heart. jaime needs to be eating fruits and vegetables and walking for 2-3 hours a day. oatmeal with banana for breakfast, baked potato for 2nd breakfast, salad for lunch (lettuce no croutons no bacon no chees no dressing) with some pineapple, some kind of vegetable based soup for dinner (minestrone etc). and lots of walking.

diet coke causes weight gain btw.

not all carbs are the same smart guy.

1/2 cup oatmeal=150 cals
1 banana=100 cals
1 potato=160 cals
100 grams romaine lettuce=16 cals
1cup of pineapple=80cals
10oz minestrone soup=200cals

1piece of chocolate cake=550cals

give him 2 potatoes and 20oz of soup and thats 1200 calories. add in fruit in between meals as snacks for another 300cals maybe. ive never bothered to count calories or had to watch my weight so im not an expert but im guessing my diet suggestion is both healthy and would result in weight loss.

how is eating only carbs healthy? Is Jaime supposed to eat the lettuce dry like a rabbit?

Coming from the guy that's outraged that Jaime is eating a 1,000 calorie meal whilst being able to eat approximately 2,500 calories and lose weight...

Re: The Twitch Streamboat

take it easy guys, for a guy that overweight, he doesnt need to obsessively count calories or do fancy diets for a bit, he can lose the first 50-60 lbs with minimal changes, and he can make adjustments on the fly, doesnt need to go full hardcore from the first day. its actually beneficial for him to leave room to tighten his diet later.

Re: The Twitch Streamboat

I really, really hope he is successful but he does need help. He can't do this alone. He needs to have someone tell him exactly what to eat, how much to work out and to hold him accountable. I feel like I'm watching an episode of 600lb Life, where they tell him exactly what to eat but the people still order pizza on the DL.

I know that poker players are science and math people but sometimes you just have to get after it. He said something about not walking up the stairs because it was it will get his heart rate too high and build muscle instead of fat. That may be true, but 300 days out, I don't think that should be a concern. He should be smoking himself.

I have no clue how Matt is going to gain so much weight. I feel like he needs to get on some kind of powerlifting program.

there is 5g protein and 2.5g fat in 1/2cup of oatmeal. in fact there is literally fat and protein in all the foods i listed. and lettuce is pretty much all water so yeah just eat it dry. i eat a head of romaine lettuce without dressing everyday usually with spaghetti or a peanut butter honey sandwich. romaine lettuce tastes great! im not suggesting eating a kale salad, yuck!

how is eating only fat healthy lol? and unhealthy fat from bacon and cheese at that. putting your body into ketoacidosis so that your body starts breaking down tissue to stay alive is unhealthy. there are other ways to burn fat.

Rich C, my favorite part of your last couple of posts (other than the "diet soda causes weight gain", ofc, can't beat that one) is when you first suggested a daily diet with about 35g of protein in total, and then in the next one say that keto would be bad due to it breaking down tissue.

add some rice and beans then. or eat some lentil soup for lunch. that will do it. eat a couple of eggs and some bacon for 3rd breakfast whatever.

look at the link for complete protein, it shows how much of each amino acid is needed per day and then shows how much of those amino acids are provided by a 2500calorie diet of solely potatoes. that provides about double the amount of each amino acid and its only about 50g of protein.

Diet drinks are loaded with deceptively sweet artificial sweeteners, which, researchers say, trick the metabolism into thinking sugar is on its way, spike insulin levels, and shift the body from a fat-burning to a fat-storing state. While diet drinks are calorie-free, they're also nutrition-free.
diet sodas increase your craving for doughnuts. people don't lose weight drinking diet soda. drink water.
