Imho, all "diets" are merely methods to help one eat at a calorie deficit, so in that sense, I think its reasonable to state that whatever eating strategy that is consistently applied with a reasonable calorie deficit over a sustained period of time is the one a person should use.
There's nothing magical about any of the so called diets (granted some of them are really stupid or complete BS), you just have to grind that daily deficit and see the weight slowly come off. Its the pace of the weight loss that trips me up, so much so that I avoid looking at scales and just try to track days of consistency on my calendar instead.
If there's one thing I've learned, you never arrive, you have to stay aware of how much you're eating (& adjust your calorie requirements as you lose the weight) or that **** will be right back on and you'll be even fatter than you were before. Its ****ing maddening for someone who's biggest vice is food coupled with weak self control over portion sizes.
