This whole thing is becoming one giant ugly publicity stunt. It is pretty much a joke at this point, as there might be 3 people who are actually risking one million of their own money. Everyone else is staked, and most are staked by Guy Laliberte.

This is becoming the norm for poker. It is going to be pretty brutal to hear about Charity this and Charity that, every time this is mentioned. How about a real charity, where the money goes to actual poker players who had their money stolen from those playing in the big one? Or a real charity where poker scammers involved in Full Tilt, Ultimate Bet, or Absolute Poker actually pay some money out of their ill-gotten gains, to a worthwhile cause.

It's as if everyone involved has no shame at all. What a disgrace. Poker has zero chance of ever being legalized in the United States, and as long as the current crop of poker representatives allows a stupid Charity scam like this to exist, I hope it never gets legalized.
