Breaking News this morning from the music industry and the poker world as musician and international superstar Tom Petty has just been confirmed for the BIG ONE for ONE DROP $1,000,000 buy-in poker tournament. Petty timed his world tour perfectly and will be leaving from Germany and coming straight to Las Vegas, Nevada where he will be competing for the multi-million dollar 1st prize at The Rio Hotel and Casino on July 1st, 2012.

Petty, not known as a poker player, could not pass up the opportunity when told that a large portion of the prize pool would be given to charity. Petty has been tied to many charities including: Midnight Mission, EarthWorks, Sierra Club Foundation, Safety Harbor Kids, Red Cross, and many others.

Tom Petty hopes his participation will help to promote the cause and tourament into the mainstream media. Petty has always been an active environmentalist via his participation with Sierra Club and Earthworks and he hopes that his participation with the One Drop Foundation will be just as successful.
