I postednin another thread that he looks very good compared to what I expected. I assumed with all the rumors of him going broke and owing a lot he would look like he was in bad shape. That couldn't be farther from reality. He looked good, played good , and won big. Hope he's getting all his debts squared up so he can get back to being the old Tom

Tom mentioned in the stream Stormtrooper posted that every time he plays his new 'highest stake ever' he loses 10 buy-ins and he said that has happened to him 3 or 4 times in Macau.

He also refused to answer the question about the biggest win he had ever seen.

Said he'd be spending a lot more time in Vegas the next couple of years. And was looking for a place in the Mandarin.

hes still doing bad stuff but def. best at the table by far . its kinda crazy to think how soft that high stakes action is . everyone seemed like they were playing on case money except klein and dwan obviously. dnegs is such a dildo. i think the lady player was the worst by far followed by jrb.

It really is crazy isn't it, that the richest players can actually be relatively pretty bad.

I realize he's Tom Dwan and has a reputation, but how many times is a six-bet overbet shove for massive stakes not AA? Especially in a three way pot?

For a sec, I thought Durr was about to smile when Antonio 5 bet. He's printing money with his image here.

mmmm yeah, no.

The so called "3bet" it's a raise to the straddle, it's not actually a 3bet. So it was a 5bet jam

And lol at anyone thinking tom would shove 500bb with Ak in that spot.

And lol at Daniel "You both have AK right?" mmmm, then why you fold QQ?

So what's the likely story of these past years?

Dwan goes to Asia these past years and plays in some of the sickest games but has terrible swings and goes underground due to a combination of him owning large amounts of money, and possibly fiscal, legal-related issues coming from those huge swings? And now he has finally climbed enough out of the hole where he feels comfortable being in the public eye again?

^yeah seems like that kinda haha.

I guess he finally won in the biggest games lately where he dropped 10 bi everytime before as mentioned some posts above.

Exactly @ AK 500bb shove against antonio, and is legit never shoving there with QQ. Bad call by Antonio imo. People who don't play deep higher stakes don't realize that folding KK pre isn't too insane in certain spots.

I don't see why it isn't conceivable that the games are just better for him overseas and he was willingly playing as much poker as his body could handle because they were that juicy?

A few funny anecdotes from the telecast:

- Dwan was completely unaware that T-Mobile arena was built and that the Raiders are coming to LV
- The HU battle vs Jungle was brought up and discussed (along with some other stories about Jungle in the Asia games, etc)
- Dwan drank with fellow Americans in Hong Kong on election night after Trump was elected
- I found it quite interesting that he was so protective of discussing the private games and how big they played, but didn't hesitate to use the terms 'super fish' etc when describing the players in the games.

Cool moment of the night was when JRB tipped the dealers $1k (off Dwan's stack) for their services.

he left for Asia after the legal trouble with the asian high rollers. It's possible their legal trouble has finally cleared up which is why he plans the return to vegas. Just a guess though. He must have made millions grinding in Asia.

He probably doesn't want to mention the stakes because if they are really ridiculous, it may attract more Americans or Europeans who can play and his mystique would be a bit dampened.

It's been patently obvious to anyone capable of critical thinking that this is what Tom has been doing, but as the kids say, haters are gonna hate.

If anything was shared that we don't already know I'd appreciate cliffs.

Paraphrasing but he mentioned that one of the problems he'd had with Jungle was that they would agree to something (presumably a postponement/payment of a penalty), Jungle would say that's fine, then he'd find out a day later Jungle had been complaining about the deal he had just agreed to.

Best story so far: JRB said he watched Dwan and 2 Chinese zillionaires play 3 handed. One of the Asian guys called down a large river bet to make the pot $4mil USD with the nut low/playing the board and all 3 just laughed. JRB couldn't play in the game bc they wanted him prove he could lose $5mil. Does Anyone really think Tom is broke at this point? You think he's 100 mil in make up?

I can't help thinking would jungle have admitted that durrrr had paid 700k in penalties if durrrr wasn't about to go on tv.

maybe durr paid 700k in penalties + 700k extra for jungle to make it public that durr has paid

There wasn't anything groundbreaking about it. Antonio asked about it and seemed completely shocked that the challenge was still pending. IIRC Dwan then said:

- Largely his own fault that the challenge hasn't finished
- He does want to play / finish it
- Annoyance in thinking he and Jungle were at some sort of agreement, only to hear him complain our be unhappy with arrangement a few days later
- Admitted that he had paid Jungle some sort of fees
