Well I don't know about Isildur but if there is anyone on here that wants to defend Durr as being any thing other than a donk then they need a good long hard look at themselves!

Absolutely agree. Will you coach me now?

What did you find so lacking about the previous 100+ frank discussions about them that you needed to start this one?

It's difficult to take an OP seriously when it's written in the style of a 12 year old wannabe.

they are still better than you will ever be, and better than 99%+ of poker players. The fact that they have no bankroll management and big egos seemed to be their downfall, but lets be honest someone with good bankroll management usually doesnt run it up to millions of dollars to begin with.

At one point Dwan was one of the best online players ever, at his peak he most certainly was. Problem is when he shifted his attention to big live cash games he lost most of his edge online and started getting crushed. Side note...any way Dwan won't finish the challenge because he had an agreement with FTP to cover a percentage of losses?

isuldur1 was 6 tabling 6 of the best players in the world simultaneously and crushed all of them at the same time.

Dwan owned PAD/HSP on TV and was the biggest winner the show ever saw which happend to have some of the high stakes players online playing live.

At that level of the game you prob can't sustain playing forever because of variance and the nature of downswings involving that much money. However they are still in the top >1% best in the world.

The only person who truly fell off is Gus Hansen losing
-$20,000,000 online. Negrenu confirmed gus lost -$18M.
At some point you gotta comes to terms maybe the game has passed you by.isn't the goal to make money and get out eventually?

This ^^^^ And im pretty sure the term Whale doesn't apply to Durrr or Isildur1. Like someone said in the thread when Dwan was on HSP killing it, sorry but this is not how whales play. OP is def a ******, that is 100% true.

As far as tracked, verifiable results that I am aware of, Dwan is up $2.2M in online poker since 2007
source: https://www.highstakesdb.com/profiles/durrrr.aspx

There's many players with higher net results, yet you all decide to glorify this one because he raises 93s? Who's next on the list? Isildur1? As far as tracked results on highstakesdb, isi is down over 4 mill
https://www.highstakesdb.com/profiles/Isildur1.aspx

yet all of you nerds are creaming over these dudes that are combined roughly -2 mill in the hole over 9+ years (*as far as highstakesdb tracks). Can someone please provide the logic here?
This is hilarious, so by this logic you could combine Guy Laliberte with Jungleman and say they are net losers so therefore Jungleman sucks.

General comment: posting opinions / appraisals made by high-stakes regs regarding opponents they've played against in the past, or against whom they hope to play in the future is remarkably stupid and of zero validity. (In fact, it's more likely there's a negative correlation to relative poker ability than a positive one.) Not berating fish (or weaker regs, who are the 'fish' of the HS world) is a lesson every last HS reg internalized ages ago. If any of you find yourself writing a post of the form "well, X said so-and-so about Y, so therefore Z", take a deep breath, and instead of hitting Submit, have a Coke and a smile.

What utter nonsense.

So when I believed Ike saying that WCG was a great HU NLHE player in fact what he meant was that he's a terrible HU NLHE player?

And when Ben86 said that Sauce is a great PLO player he was also using the old "not berating the fish" tactic was he?

I think you'll find most of the top players are, by and large, pretty honest about who they think are the best/worst regs and don't need to play stupid "don't tap the fishtank" tactics.
