Not really. You could have 12/12 of the Committee and it still wouldn't mean anything. The problem isn't getting it approved by the Committee; the problem is that whatever total debt reduction package comes out of the Committee (assuming they can even agree on one by their Nov. 23 deadline), still would have to be approved by the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the POTUS. All of that is extremely unlikely which is why the legislation creating this process included a fallback provision providing for automatic cuts in government spending.
And, unfortunately, that is the most likely outcome.
