Jungleman: you obviously have access to a ton of information that I don't, but from a bird's eye view of the situation, and the way you say Tom is acting... you're going to be really, really hard-pressed to get paid back now, or any time in the near future.

You demonstrably seem to have no recourse against Tom that will make him(/escrowers) want to pay you. Revealing personal details or circumstances likely won't get you any further, and it runs the risk of making you look pretty classless as well.

I absolutely get why you want to keep pursuing this, but as it is right now, you're not going to get anywhere. Did you get scammed? Obviously. And it definitely sucks. I'm entirely on your side. But if you want to get paid, you're going to have to wait until Tom either grows up or becomes an entirely different person.

In the meantime, do yourself a huge favor: take the high road, drop any public grievances about this immediately and graciously. It's +EV PR for you, which is better than nothing.

even with the penalties factored in jungleman still owes dwan money. what evidence is there that dwan is ignoring these penalties? when jungleman complains and then later it is revealed that he in fact is the one that owes dwan significant amounts of money it makes you wonder what other facts he is being misleading about and taking advantage of by dwan's silence.

I believe this is how the penalty structure looks. At the end of this month Durrr will have accrued 490k in penalties for not playing 8k hands every two months. From Sept 2013 to June 2014 Durrr owed Jungle 300k. 10 months of not paying a dime and some of you expect Jungle to pay the 100k difference to Durrr for the 400k prop bet?

I think it's time durrr agrees to a penalty each time he fails to pay a penalty.

Increasing penalty structure is a joke, after 2yr the fine would be close to 1M. What we know about Dwan & how he feel about the challenge, there is 'Zero' chances he pays the penalty. This penalty structure won't help settle this debacle, if anything it will make it harder to settle. If a person refuse to pays 1.5M, there is no way he will pay 2.5M+. If the side bet is 1.5M with a generous 5% interest per a dollar, that is only 75g a year worth of interest. This structure of penalty is worse than a loan shark.

Does anyone actually think Dwan's net worth is > $0? Most likely scenario is he's deep in debt/makeup to asian creditors and this challenge with cates is a very back burner issue (or in his mind, not an issue at all) for him.

Pretty sure Dwan still thought he had an edge on Jungleman even after being down 30 BI. For all we know, he still thinks he has an edge. And there's no doubt he thought he had an edge before it started, as I remember him in the chat telling Jungleman something like, "I think it's cute you think you have an edge."

So people ITT saying, "Dwan would've been crazy to offer this challenge without Full Tilt funding it" seem to not realize that offering even 3 to 1 is still massively +EV if you truly have a significant edge, since you're locking in 50,000 hands and it's extremely unlikely you'll be down in the end.
