These people are the worlds biggest money whores.Their whole extistence revolves around one thing and one thing only. PAYOFFS. If you and the "leaders" of the poker universe want to get through to these people, start paying them, or start paying their opponents in the next election. Otherwise you are spinning your wheels. My state, PA is probably going to legalize online gambling soon. Why? so they can pay people off with the money they get from it. There is not enough "revenue" from poker to justify federal legislators legalizing online poker. The only way to get to these people is to pay them. The only way to get these whores to do what you want is pay. So if you really want to influence these people, get all the poker community together and start forking out cash in a big way, or you are wasting your time. These people only accept one form of influence. Cash. If youre not paying, youre wasting yours and everyone else's time.
Paragraphs or not. This is correct, Rich. I think it's sad that YOU don't get it. The DAP has been in effect for 5 plus years now and it has accomplished nothing. Absolutely nothing. Keep on doing "something" that yields no results while online poker dies in a grease fire. PPA is the least effective lobbying group/governing body of any sport or activity in the world.

A good read: http://www.pokernewsdaily.com/editor...lations-28627/

Obviously 'more can be done.' However, the 'more can be done' part has to start with people actually taking 30 SECONDS out of their day to send tweets/emails.

Got 30 SECONDS to spare? Then #Fight4Poker (https://theppa.org/fight4poker/)

The DAP has accomplished its goal, which is to bring attention to this issue to lawmakers. We're not trying to tweet our way to victory. We're simply aiding the lobbying effort. Too bad you seem to think there should be an easy way to win this tough fight. Maybe that explains why I've never seen you doing anything to fight the fight.

If you have a better idea, I recommend you start an advocacy effort and see if your ideas bear the fruit you foresee from the comfort of your couch.

Since, Twitter is nothing more than a place for high school children how about we use mechanisms that apply to adults?

Can you start to post the phone numbers to each of the offices of the Reps. you posted? That way we can flood their offices with phone calls about poker?

This Twitter stuff is ******ed. Making their phone lines busy with repetitive calls about poker will have more of an effect than Twitter. While you're at it, if you could post the residential phone numbers that would be beneficial because we could start calling them at 3 am and let them know directly.

I don't see why an organization dedicated to making the issue known would stop at Twitter and Facebook. Every single message from now on needs to contain phone numbers to offices of each representative with instructions to call these offices repeatedly demanding rights for poker players. The Twitter and Facebook campaign needs to be abandoned.

We need to make it difficult for the offices of these politicians to do business over the phone by repeatedly calling them and making their phone lines busy. It makes no sense to put all the focus on Twitter and Facebook accounts that likely aren't even managed by these people directly. Bog down the phone lines at their offices and it will have more of a direct impact on these people.

Here is Gohmert's kid's names, as well.

Sarah Gohmert, Katy Gohmert, Caroline Gohmert

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC):

Spouse: Terri Gowdy

Parents: Harold Watson Gowdy, Jr, Novalene Watson

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC):

Spouse: Roxanne Wilson

Children: Alan Wilson, Julian Dusenbury Wilson, Hunter Taylor Wilson, Addison Graves Wilson, Jr.

Rep. Pedro Pierluisi (D-PR):

Chldren: Anthony, Michael, and Rafael, and one daughter, Jacqueline

Spouse: María Elena Carrión

We might want to start contacting their kids via Twitter and Facebook and informing them that their parents hate personal freedom and are ruining America with their actions.

Something along the lines of:

"Your father/mother is a disgrace to America and a traitor for trying to strip away the rights and freedoms of online poker players. Your family should go live in China where you belong."

Can you imagine the dinner table talk after that?

"Daddy/mommy why are people saying you hate this country and are traitors?"

If you're gonna use Twitter and Facebook use it in a way that has an impact.

INyaDOME, I like the idea of including more contact info for the people we are trying to reach, and am all for calling and sending letters to lawmakers. At the same time, twitter does still have some advantages which should not be ignored. 1. Twitter is super fast and easy. Even if it is very low impact, it's also super low effort. 2. Twitter does not discriminate based on location. Most lawmakers instantly disregard calls and letters from people outside of their districts/states. Location anonymity takes care of that somewhat.

I don't really like the idea of getting people's kids involved. Their children do not have anything to do with their political stances, and should be left alone as innocent bystanders.

Thank you for your passion and concern, and I hope you will continue to aid in these efforts.

Some Suggestions for PPA/others:

*For everyone- Create #Fight4Poker bumper stickers, t-shirts, hats, etc.
*For social media users- Type #Fight4Poker after every post
*For forum users- Create signatures with hyperlinks to the #Fight4Poker page

These are just some ideas to help raise awareness. Curious what you think...
