Perlmutter and Grimm in the "for" column are also co-sponsors of the bill. Please be sure to thank them.

Ruben Hinojusa (undecided or unknown) deletes all comments.
Patrick McHenry (against) filters the word poker and now also filters p0ker. We're using p_ker now, but that will also get filtered soon, I'm sure.

Its nice that you all are spending the effort to try and make the issue known but surely there has to be a more effective way per man hour than writing comments on facebook? What concrete effect does this really have on the legislative climate?

It takes 5 minutes tops. What else are you gunna do? Sit there and read about durr or bbv? If you read the thread you would see several congressmen have said they have noticed the huge amounts of comments and some have said they plan on learning more about the bill because of us. Please help out

Well, there are three more co-sponsors to the Barton bill now. Probably partly due to the pressure we've applied via facebook, email, phone calls, faxes, in person meetings, and hand-written letters. How much have you done?

I'm curious to hear about this. What, in your experience, is more effective? This is assuming you have done anything for the cause.

Never did I claim to be a major worker in this fight, nor am I sure why you all feel the need to personally attack me.

I'm simply proposing you all take a rational look at the effort you are putting forth. I started out by commending you for this effort. But wouldn't it also be a worthwhile effort to consider the best possible course of action? I never claimed to have done this analysis myself or to have the solution... I was simply proposing this discussion take place. I recommend you all try to not be so defensive and take this friendly criticism for what is is - friendly.

Facebook is easy and quick. Best thing we can do to show numbers. There was even a LVRJ article talking about how active the membership has been. We are being heard. The reason you get negative comments is because you are posting 2 months after this action threads began and not being constructive. We barely have the numbers to keep flooding facebook pages, and you are discouraging people from participating without offering any better solutions. What did you expect? If you want to help then start by doing the daily action plans, then maybe we could eventually have enough people to do bigger things(like phone bombs). Just please don't come here and tell us we should be doing something else with our time. We are using what resources we have to be heard.

I never "told you" you should be doing something else with your time. I simply posed a question that frankly needs to be addressed. The claim "we are using what resources we have to be heard" is what I am skeptical of. I greatly doubt that the Facebook wall is a group of individuals' primary and best mode of making a difference. It appears though that you are past the point of thought/reflection/discussion and that if I'm not ready to become a mindless Facebook spammer I should simply shut up and move out of the way. In that case, carry on.

Haha so when someone comes in potentially with new ideas or potentially to get involved you pre-reject him simply because he hasn't spammed enough Facebooks in his past? Good to see this project is being run by a group of juveniles.

I'm all ears. You obviously haven't been posting on facebook, which is the easiest thing to do. Do you believe that posting a plan that takes more time/effort is going to mean more or less people doing it? We only have like 10-20 people doing these plans, and that is with the easiest possible plan.

Basically this. Like I said if you have a better plan that people would get behind and actually do, then I'm all ears. The people, that want to help more, do it on their own. We don't need an action plan to visit/call our reps and complain or contact Newspapers/News stations. This is just a simple plan, so people can donate any amount of time they want to the cause.

What is your plan? We had a guy come into legislation last week saying we should support a new organization help get poker regulated. His idea was to create a government owned poker site. Should we just bow down and call you a genius when you still haven't offered anything?

New ideas? Have at it. Just don't come in here criticizing those of us who are actually working on this. What are your ideas? Why not lead with those ideas instead of just suggesting that we're wasting our time? If you're not part of the solution . . .

It is apparent from the top quote that you didn't come here to do the bolded part of the bottom quote. So what IS your point?

This discussion is getting petty and absurd.

My point is obvious... I came in here simply questioning your method and proposing a forward looking discussion. I did not come in with a solution, but with a method with which to generate some. (Questioning, reflection, etc.)

It is obvious that you are emotionally invested in the feeling that this Facebook campaign is relevant and that as a result you aren't ready to engage in rational thought. I'm sorry that your good intentions have to be squandered this way. Good luck, good bye.
