Wonderful story. Thanks for sharing. The games weren't easy in Vegas around 2001-2002 either. A lot of people seemed to be staying home and playing internets.
Have seen a few posts lately from accountants and actuarys that were unhappy with their long hours and thinking of making the switch. Hopefully the accountants come across yours! Very inspiring.

Wow, excellent thread. Good writing and a great story. I like a player who mixes up games. I think it is one of the secrets to being a long time poker player. If you play just NL Hold'Em all the time, you will get sick after a couple of years. Mixing up games keeps you sharp and always on your toes.

Can anyone recommend any other threads on 2+2 with a similar detailed description of a poker players' lives?

Got a question for OP, In the tourney you played back in the day that was a freeroll that you won the WSOP seat, you said you were down to final three or four and chopped and that the other guys did not want the seat cause they were from out of town? then how did they qualify for the tourney when you had to have something like 2000 hours of play in? Could you transfer poker play from other ceasers to the Las Vegas one?

I never thought of that and don't really have an answer for you. Though, I'm 99% sure you had to play the requisite hours at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

However, the qualifying hours was only sixty. So, it wouldn't be too difficult to qualify during a one week vacation. Of course, then you'd have to come back to play the freeroll.

Bump!

Almost time for Year Nine, if Dynasty would be so kind.

And for those who haven't read yet, what are you waiting for?

Is there some kind of "best of 2+2" collection? I want to read more quality stuff like this

zomg - I can't believe it's been 8 years. I remember picking Dynasty's brains in the Small Stakes Limit Fourm years ago.
