Also where would the nearest grocery store be to the Rio? Do any delivery service delivery to the room? Sounds like I will need to stock up the mini fridge.

Thank you in advance for your responses. Flying in on the 25th and staying till I get knocked out of the main event.
The hash house has been open the mornings I went by it. I assume it’s open every day but I’m not 100%.

Is this still the White Power thing he was raving about a few years ago? My God what a LEGEND.

I laugh whenever he is interviewed after a win - zero humility. Kinda refreshing because I’m tired of the false modesty of all pro athletes after they win.

I did the exact same thing

I have no interest [or time] for their other poker content

It's like watching a World Cup [soccer/football] which means something big <that is the WSOP> or watching friendlies/other matches <that to me don't>

I actually signed up for a year - as I hadn't seen last years WSOP main event [so watched those four episodes] and in this year I think I get two WSOPs because of the schedule

Even so I feel cheesed off at how rubbish they are.

I mean missing so many final tables.... yet they have time to make so much poker after dark and other 'friendlies'

I know most ppl don't care just about the WSOP - but if you do it's rather irksome.

Especially as before PokerGo we got every single final table. Grrr

So now we are paying for something, and getting considerably less

I was there on October 6th. I was told they are open only Wednesday- Sunday.
But it may have changed since.

If enough players banded together and boycotted the wsop for the blatant favoritism they show, that would be the way to get positive change. Instead, it's the regs that have to go and be on their p's and q's because any little outburst or a 1 drink too many might very well incur a lifetime ban.

But yes let's keep celebrating a guy who has been so out of line for so many years and crossed many lines. Yes keep celebrating him. And Effel and his merry band of wsop exec phonies will gladly take your money. In return they'll give you awful dealers, blatant favoritism and wouldn't even blink twice to throw any of us out for the smallest 'infraction'. If the "little guys and gals" would actually band together there could be a lot of positive changes made. But sadly that will never happen. But we'll all get to watch Phil Hellmuth win another bracelet because of course that is what's most important it seems. Phil Hellmuth the GOAT. What a joke.
Didnt he said something like he is going to burn the place down? I wonder if he would get banned if he would make some kind of suicide joke at the front desk?

Anyone who play 10000 events will get lucky in 10% events. And super lucky in 0.015 % events .

One time he said “ I guess if there weren't luck involved, I'd win 'em all.“

What he meant was if the luck involved only with him than he will win all the tournaments.( in other words if he is lucky all the time and his opponent unlucky all the time ,he will win all the tournaments! Like a foolish child)

In all fairness, I doubt there is much interest in watching the draw games. They don't exactly make for exciting television, plus the length of time for each hand is relatively long.

An interesting stat is his final tables to WSOP cashes, it’s a tad under 50%. 157 cashes and 70 final tables. Tom Brady is 50% to make the Super Bowl if he plays a full season.

Their both GOATS in their respective fields and to say otherwise is disingenuous. The main argument against Phil for years were that his bracelets were only in NLH, then it was he won them in small fields, well now he’s won plenty in non-NLH and in fields with way better than your average opponents especially going into days 2-3.

It’s the PokerGo service. Poker fans use it. There may not be much interest among the general population but PokerGo doesn’t cater to the general population.

Not to disagree with anything you're saying, but it's funny that those two popular narratives were completely contradictory. NLHE fields were never small. Hellmuth always had the most impressive resume of the bracelet leaders.

The way phil tweets reminds me more and more of trump every day. IDK if hes just getting older and senile or its narcissistic behaviors or both? The one thing Phil does that trump doesnt is that hes still able to poke fun at himself, which shows some humility.

Well actually the 2 soldiers were convicted of something, not murder but maybe conduct unbecoming a soldier, and dishonorably discharged. So he didn’t lose.

And Phil is guilty of conduct unbecoming, so it couldn't be any more accurate.

To be fair PokerGO has low subscription numbers and totally bleeds money. If you have a PokerGO subscription you will watch Draw poker. PokerGO should have a basic setup just in case to do this on the fly. WSOP used to have this for secondary events that would stream barebones. This could have been done and used to get done. The tech was there almost a decade ago.

Poker coverage of the WSOP fell of a massive cliff a decade ago. We should have a few different people with a table or something outside interviewing people. PokerNews hardly does interviews and that has been meh for a few years now.

Although I have to admit, the live streaming of the tailgate on PokerGO YouTube was pretty tremendous and felt like a nice innovation on things. Folks chilling outside, giving their hot takes on the ongoing things at the WSOP.
