I have decided to stop playing on ignition in 2017. Poker will likley die without my deposits. GG.

Cashouts in the US are faster than ever with bitcoin, and checks are still pretty quick across the board. Deposits are easy and rarely blocked. Ease of access is there if you want it.

Just remembered something semi-pokerish (?) that might be positive ...

Even though poker maybe isn't as mainstream as it used, it seems like poker players are as popular as ever with reality show casting directors. It was pretty interesting/entertaining to have the chance the last couple of years to see people who have played poker apply similar strategies in a different environment like Big Brother or even Master Chef, and have that go really well versus non-poker player contestants.


Maybe that shows that the skills of poker might help in other competitive environments?

And hopefully we'll be seeing more poker players show up on reality shows in 2017 as well?


PS. Also the Aaron Sorkin poker movie Molly's Game is supposed to come out in 2017

Bitcoin is slowly revolutionizing online poker

The UKGC is changing their Remote Technical Standards to force sites to police cheating and bots better and to report on that cheating to the regulator. They will also be forced to explain how seized funds and compensation are dealt with and their policy on third party software and enforcement.

Already UK licenced sites have to be more transparent about how player funds are held (avoid 888) and the regulator is also going to impose standardised reporting from all sites on the cheating, software etc so that industry wide information can potentially be published.

The UK model gives every other country a sensible regulated route for legal online poker and the ability to tax the firms revenues operating in their country.
