FUnny,maybe he wasnt bull****ting me then last Year.Played with him several times in the 20/40 limit game at the Rio were he wasnt happy about me because I stack my chips weirdly..like in 40s and 20s and had a big Isle in front of me and he needled me that its more luck than skill.

Step 2: when someone behind you reopens the action with a raise, "barrel" your balls off when it gets back to you- until all the money is in, regardless of what the original bettor does (though obv you get more street cred if he 3bets).

I played at the V with him pretty regularly for a few months. Hes not a bad guy but hes pretty not self aware. Brags about himself nonstop, tells stories that are clearly fabricated and loves to hear himself talk. Hes also pretty bad at poker to be honest. Believe it not or not hes like THE biggest nit in vegas and some of his reasoning after hands was LOL. Does a lot of "I knew he had that man" after seeing the cards.

He also said one of the dumbest things I've heard which stuck with me. He was trying to hustle some sportsbetting tout service or something and was like "The only problem with betting sports is that people bet too many games. If you only bet one game a day you WILL WIN" Everyone at the table just nods in agreement lol.

He is not far off. You should be betting very few games. The bigger losers try to bet everything. Obviously you aren't going to "win" this way, but the strategy is generally correct.

...so basically you're saying he's way off.

the few people i believe when they tell me they are winning sportsbettors actually do it the opposite and bet a ton of games to lower variance


obviously a ton of losers do the same but i think you have a better long term chance of succeeding if you are betting a lot, but i doubt even 2% of people who bet sports are profitable

Through my very own scientific study, I am more successful betting fewer games than more. It's difficult to gain enough information to accurately beat the lines consistently on a wide variety of games. Focusing on only a few games or teams makes it easier to do IMO. In that sense, I agree with IceMan but you don't win because you bet fewer games - you win because you know more about the games you are betting.

If I poorly worded what I said, the above is what I attempted to iterate.

in theory i totally agree with what you guys are saying and thats what i tried when i was a break evenish sportsbettor, but i knew a couple guys in vegas that bet a ton of games and it was all numbers based and when they tell me they won at 56-57ish% i believe it

That's barely enough to clear standard juice.

I'm not saying there aren't people who are successful betting high volume but it is quite difficult and certainly not something everyone can do.

If everyday you rank the games you think are your best bets and only bet the one you think is the best, you will obviously do better betting only one game than more than that.

thats all anyone does if they bet long term
