I was railing that 2004 stud event and the funny thing was after 5th street Forrestt turns around and lips to one of his friends "got him bro". I remember all of us that were standing around were really confused as to what he was talking about. Of course at the time we had no idea that he was going to make the sickest call in poker history.

I could probably search it out if nobody can confirm it.
I believe Mike also mentioned the debt to Forrest on his latest pokercast interview.

Mike's interpretation of who he owes is clearly up for debate. He's also stated that he doesn't owe Full Tilt anything but they seem to think otherwise.

I remember watching him once at Binions and he got a guy (who turned out to be very good later in his career) to lay dawn a set of 10's on a K10832 rainbow board. OTR Ted bet, this guy raised, and Ted put in the greatest value 3 bet ever. With past action he was getting like 4 or 5:1 on a call and he said "How do you run so good. You have to be the luckiest mf'er on the planet. I'll show you what real players can do" and mucked face up. Ted flipped over J4os and didnt say a word.

He does have some compulsion to back losing investments and ranks at the top in terms of degens. Its kinda sick if you think about it, but it seems he gets off on watching people put themselves through hell for a bet. And most of his bets take place over the course of 6 months to a year+. I think he feels empowered by the long term psychological control he has on others. Pretty deep metagame imo.
Sorry but this hand just makes the other guy an idiot not Ted a great player.

And actually it's a bad read by Ted also, he put the guy on a weak/ mediocre hand he could get him to lay down. No way did he ever put him on a set of 10s here or even close to it or he does not 3 bet giving the guy those odds to call knowing a set of 8s 10s or Ks has (SHOULDN'T) no decision.

So a story I was just told about the esteemed Professor Backwards. He's playing some limit game around 30-60 stakes in an east coast casino, because he's presumably broke. He's also a bit odd, like on drugs odd. He plays poorly, like on drugs poorly. He also likes to stack his chips in some odd arrangement, like 6 chip stacks.

So one day one of the young pros decides to stack his chips in 6 chip stacks to F with Ted. Someone at the table notices and says, "hey, why are you copying Ted?" The kid replies, "I'm not copying Ted, he's copying me." This awakens Ted from his dreamy druggy table slumber and he says, "Kid, I've been stacking my chips like that since before you were playing poker".

The kid replies, "I've been stacking your mom longer than that." Like a grizzly emerging from hibernation Ted chases the kid like he was a beehive full of honey.

If he's playing 30-60 limit with $10 chips stacking them in sixes seems like it would be very efficient and cut down on chip fumbles.

Live poker chews up and spits out seemingly everyone who pursues it professionally, eventually. Props to Ted for surviving this long in the game.

Don't know if I would necessarily call what he has done as 'survive', or maybe that is the only word to describe it, lol. And I don't think he should be getting props for what he has done in life. He is an old busted degen card player with suspect morals. Agree with your first statement of course.

losing all that weight from his bet wasn't very healthy and probably will cut years off of his life

Care to elaborate, or do you prefer to just talk out of your ace?

Where do you get the "suspect morals" from?
