Why not? He is the biggest star ( top 3 at least) in poker and the "greatest" (lol its even hard to write that with a serious face) tourney player alive.
I know I would play a lot more ZOOM poker e.g. he was playing that and so would hundreds others probably.

Phil Hellmuth's name is going to be ridiculously valuable when US regulation hits as he's almost certainly the single most recognizable name in poker in the US by a fairly wide margin. Signing now with Stars would undoubtedly mean a lengthy contract that would mean he gets left behind when US regulation gets going. Not to mention Stars obviously cannot serve US players and I'm not sure how valuable his name is internationally

Don't know why PokerStars has so many American players, makes no sense to me but the 4 above fits perfectly with the current PS pro's and other recent business decisions.

Hardly any of them. Gus, Phil and Durrrr probably, and a couple of regional icons. None of the others have any value to a poker room.

Other than that, the Red Pro is symbolic of the troubles at FTP. There was a big backlash against them after Black Friday, having so many red pros seems really unsustainable in hindsight when you look back at FTPs balance sheet, and so many of them in debt had their names dragged through the mud.

Stars also has a different attitude towards sponsorship. They have trimmed down their own roster considerably and prefer to sponsor the likes of Nadal and Boris Becker, who actually have some marketing clout.

Unless they want to relocate to another country. I doubt Stars are going to sign too many pros for FTP.
Somebody posted earlier about the American Players . What's The point if they can't play online on that site? Maybe after legislation goes through and if they can renter the US market they may sign a few of them but they will not get the amount of $ that they did when the Degens were running it.

I would think they would go with international players that are in the countries that FT will be operating in.

Ivey might be an option just as a way to get something for the 4 milly he "borrowed" from FT....let him work it off.

I don't see a very large group, and I don't see any major expenditures advertising in the US until they can see their way into the market.

Certainly there won't be a Red Pro list as long as your arm and 5 tv shows appearing on US TV.
