Currently the benefits of sponsoring a pro is what... a stars patch that might show up on TV once a year, and maybe a commercial or two from the most high profile of the bunch?

Seems like sponsoring The Micros would generate more potential income than most of that list. At least The Micros gets passed around Youtube and Facebook when it's funny.

Yes, it was a one-off promo from what I've heard. However, iGame is not an iPoker skin but an Entraction (IGT) and fastpoker skin.

Why would any US based pros be offered a deal ? They're not much use if they can't play on the site they're supposed to be representing.


Putting that aside, if it was me, I wouldn't sign up Juanda. Great player, but WTF, does he even speak English?! I can never understand a word he says, and whenever someone speaks to him, he has to ask them to repeat it at least 3 times and looks at them with those weird eyes.

Very weird dude.



The only ones on that list that I'd consider are Roland De Wolfe and Gus Hansen.


Also, unreal how many "Red pros" there were. Complete waste of money most of them IMO

Outside of the Team FTP guys, the standard Red Pro didn't really cost them much.

At 100% RB + $35/hr, FTP was still raking off the other 5-8 guys at the table. Add in that a lot of these red pros would drive action, keep games going, etc and it was a major +EV thing. Playing a red pro, whether it was someone with big results or some random Korean guy, had appeal to the avg customer and created a unique customer experience.

if i remember right, it took forever for ftp to sign dwan because he wanted a lot, so i'd be pretty surprised if he ended up with stars any time soon.

Obvo people say Dwan becuase of his skills but he isnt going to attract the avg person to poker.He looks like he was raised in a dark cupboard under someones stairs and fed through a letter box.

A few reasons jump out:

a.) His price tag is prolly waaaay inflated due to his ego
b.) He already has a deal with Aria and probably will get a lucrative deal whenever one of the Vegas casinos go online.
c.) Doubt he would commit to playing much online
d.) Maybe I'm off with this, but he is just forever associated to UB in the poker world. Of course, new players wouldn't see this so this is likely inaccurate.
