I assume it's the Brabin thing - he got it because he was providing/basing it from Australia I presume

There's a story on Calvinayre somewhere re: the PAP/Luke Brabin stuff. Basically, the site was ordered to shut down, he complied and it sounds like he was fined 10k after the proceedings wrapped up from the article (I haven't spoken to him personally since his case finished up so I can only go by what the article says).

I did some work with PAP and while I didn't have any ownership for the site or interests beyond in it beyond wanting a low rake poker site to succeed, I can confirm I personally viewed the segregated player funds prior to signing on. I also helped oversee the payout process when the site went offline to ensure everyone was paid out in full (to the extent that after the site closed I personally monitored the PAP email inbox to help cash players out for months after the site closed down for no pay to ensure everyone got paid as I attached my reputation to the site as a safe/low rake place to play).

Sure, the software wasn't the best and a lot of people don't get along with Luke on a personal level, but the site was run with good intentions of providing a low rake online poker site for players where everything was above board. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Luke on a personal level, everyone was paid out and the site closing down was handled in the right way when he was given the order to shut down. Obviously he shouldn't have been running it out of Australia in hindsight legally speaking and all of that's on him as the sole owner of the site and he faced the legal consequences for that.

Also that headlines pretty lol i'm pretty sure Luke is not and has never been a professional poker player.

On to more positive news, Senator Leyonhjelm just announced that he's been given approval for his inquiry into online poker to overturn the ban. Please go to the FB link and show him some love as this is the best chance to save online poker in Australia in the long term. I'm sure Joey and the AOPA will have updates coming soon.

https://www.facebook.com/SenatorDavi...type=3&theater

When he asks us for submissions, every person posting in this thread MUST make the effort to put together a submission. I'm sure the AOPA will have a copy/paste version, but everyone should take the effort to personalise it. I'll post mine in thread as soon as the time comes.

Hey all,
I'm assuming most of us here are aussie poker players.

I recently just started playing on PartyPoker and used Neteller to cash out some money I earned. This would be the first time I'm withdrawing using Neteller and I'm wondering how secure their services are and how long does the withdrawal process take for the first time? I've read some scary reviews online and the amount I'm withdrawing is quite substantial. Any help will be appreciated. thanks!

Feel free to join in, it's better than having angry poker noobs yell 'stfu donkey you suck' at anyone who doesn't understand online poker but might be sympathetic to our cause or letting the falsehoods go unchallenged

Neteller and Skrill are fine. There's a non zero chance you'll randomly wind up with your account locked for verification for a small time period at some point but it always gets sorted. It's as secure as your PC is pretty much. Obviously don't leave funds in there for no reason for a long period of time especially if you're not an expert in all things internet-security related. Typically a withdrawal will take a couple days unless you need to go through extra verification in which case it'll take as long as it takes to get that verification to them plus a couple days.

Make sure you enable multi-step security on your NT prior to making the withdrawal if the amount is substantial.

Are you talking about Ignition? If so why on earth would they choose now to enter the market? Source? Interesting if true.

very trusted source, makes sense as their group recently entered the market with a stand alone casino as many group were pulling out... seems like they want to go capture the poker market as well.

@SwoopAE thanks so much for the reassurance! Yeah I've done all the security measures I can possibly get (2-step verification etc.) and I got paranoid when my verification process took 2 days when it was supposed to be just a few hours. I'm just wondering how long their withdrawal process usually takes though? especially for a first-time user?

Someone who's used Neteller for large sums could answer better i've always withdrawn larger amounts via Skrill or direct to bank from Stars personally

I have heard this rumor too for a while, let's hope it comes true.

It makes all the sense in the world for them to come in now, they don't care about the laws and with all the other poker sites pulling out it finally makes the effort worth it for them

Is the source an affiliate? How certain are you that he is correct?

It takes about 4-5 days after everything is setup and has been used before. For the first time I wouldn't think this would change much.

Hey guys,

As Swoop has mentioned we got some good news in our poker fight with a inquiry now about to be launched.

We asked for the fight and now we have it so we need to make the most of it. Last inquiry got about 20 submissions. We need 10 times that amount this time as an absolute minimum.

This is critical for us because this will remove the grey area. If we lose here we done. If we win then we carry on forever.

The AOPA will help anyone with submissions who wants it but get ready. We must make our voices heard!

More details to follow shortly.

Hahah yeah I do that on Stars, but the options to cashout on Party Poker are so limited, only Skrill and Neteller made sense then and I opted for Neteller. Is skill more reliable compared to Neteller?

Neteller actually bought Skrill last year, so there you go.

Hi,

So - from what I can tell, from this thread, and from the ldp.org/au/poker link - we cannot yet make submissions.

Is it possible someone can set up some kind of notification system (email preferable - for people like me that aren't here every day, or even week, but even a 2+2 PM). Because I have my submission ready, but I am paranoid I'll miss the window
