I get my bank accounts locked for 'suspicious' (but legitimate) transactions to offshore sportsbooks quite a bit (and on one or two occasions poker) i'd say on average maybe once or twice a year. That said i've actually had my credit card details stolen twice in the past 12 or so years, so they're probably touchier than average with my account because of that (once due to 5dimes having its database breached and once due to I don't know, once due to keylogger like 10 yrs ago). They've frozen a card or account of mine at least 8-10 times though including once 'for accessing cardless cash' the first time I used it which is a feature of theirs that they advertise.
Just tell the truth there is nothing illegal about sportsbetting or playing poker either on or offshore in Australia as a player. As long as you're not operating a gambling related business in breach of the UIGEA you're fine. As a personal punter or bitcoin speculator you have nothing to worry about. Obviously no need to volunteer info they don't ask for, just see what they want and tell the truth.
Also @ everyone asking about dates, the answer is we don't know but Stars have 30 days to comply with the legislation once it's final so even when it happens we'll probably have a (short) window. Joey will update us when it happens and i'm sure Senator Leyonhjelm will advise us on our best course of action to support his inquiry into online poker when he moves forward with that, which i'm of the understanding he can't do until the legislation's finalised etc.
