If I google the chinese app sites you mentioned there is a option to download them. Do you need to be invited to play in this games or can you just download them and play?

Also what games do they offer? like are there huplo games or is it basically all NLHE 6max?

ACR and Ignition are normal poker sites - they operate illegally, but it's not illegal to play on them. They both have their upsides and downsides, do a search of the forum to learn more. ACR has a bot problem; Ignition has anonymous tables, both have bad customer service but the consensus is you can cash out of you win etc. and we're not big on options

SWC has all of the game types, its a low traffic bitcoin site but if the HU grind is your thing its fine for that. Obviously you need bitcoin. Reputable site, but not the best software or traffic.

Monster is a 'play money' site where you buy and sell chips to a broker at an agreed upon value (something like 71 yuan to a million chips idk exactly it works out to about 10 usd = 1m chips). I have a contact in their customer support and a broker if you want to play there. From memory its mostly NLHE, but it has MTTS with a decent schedule and cash.

Master I think is all cash and NLHE+PLO, I have a guy I know who is an affiliate, I can put you in touch if need be as I think you need to deposit/withdraw through an affiliate.

PPP is an app thats invite only. There are clubs everywhere but I don't think it's big on HU. I don't know much about it.

I don't use PPP so not sure there. I don't like ACR personally; i've played on Ignition and SWCpoker.eu with no issues on both and has no problems on either and theyre both open to the public so you can just make an account and play if you want; same with ACR.

So with pokerstars invested now does that mean it's a sure thing for an eventual return sooner rather than later?

I thought I was reading The Onion at first.

Talk about dancing on the grave of online poker.
The source is a summary report from the AGRC, and was used in the DSS submission to the online poker review and was based on the HILDA data.

The report uses a sample size of 102 for population of 132K, relative standard error of between 30% and 50% for some statistics they presented, etc.

I tried to get access to the HILDA data to see how bad the report was given the actual data, but the DSS denied me access because I didn't meet their access criteria. If there anyone who has access and can “help” me, please don’t hesitate to pm me.

For those who are interested in the sources:

The government sucks so badly. Pokies everywhere causing so many problems. Racing, sportsbetting, casinos etc. You name it we have it, yet they come down on online poker where there is actually some element of skill involved. The hypocrisy is seriously sickening tbh.

I would expect nothing less from conservative scum. They preach 'small government' and liberty but are the first to remove them.

ACR yes, not sure re deposit, no idea re juicy stakes - you can play on Ignition as well or Bodog Asia (same player pool I think) through an affiliate.

That might apply to other countries, but less so in Australia.

I'm reluctant to get into much of a historical debate on this issue, but traditionally, the various "right" of Australian politics has been much more pro-gambling than left-wing groups (which see gambling as big businesses taking advantage of victims).

Some key points:
-The Federal ban on online gaming was introduced by the Howard Government, but only as part of a deal with Brian Harradine for his vote in favour of the GST
-"Right-wing" organisations like the Institute of Public Affairs are much more supportive of allowing people to gamble than organisations like Get Up, etc.

It's certainly not clear-cut (as there have certainly been some Liberal/Coalition policies that have been unhelpful).

Harradine was pretty right wing. That said, Joey himself is on the conservative side of politics in Australia and there are no strict parties that are pro or anti gambling other than Libertarian parties like Leyonhjelm's lib dems - hopefully we see some progress on the deal Leyonhjelm made to get online poker legislation looked at this year.

In the meantime, Bodog Asia seems to be ok with taking Australian customers (it's an Ignition skin) I switched over due to terrible Ignition support/deciding i'd rather deal with an affiliate than their garbage tier support.

Does it look like it will be favourable for an eventual return, i do miss stars. I don't really hear anything much anymore except the occasional 'good news coming' but doesn't seem to come.

Well I'm not sure there has been any country that has banned online poker that has got unbanned so you can now play on stars. Australia would have to set a new precedent and this will be very difficult to do.
