I would hope we get at least ten times that. Numbers are important as the more people that take the time to write something the more people there is showing that they care about it.
i have to agree the more the merrier but it is better to avoid some single generic message. IMHO there are a number of important arguments and many of them lend themselves to personal experience based input as well as the bigger more "political" points. Here is a rough list of the top of my head, for me it makes sense to sign up people to cover 1/2 of these points in their submission as personally as possible.
Personal
1) Penny poker - how penny poker is possible online but impossible in casino.
2) Access for the disabled - possible online - far harder in casino especially with travel (& stakes)
3) Access for carers who cannot leave home to visit casinos
4) How poker is maths and skill based, educational and at low stakes socially beneficial (links to penny poker)
5) Rural access
Political
6) How regulation protects the vulnerable whilst leaving illegal operators with a monopoly hurts consumers - myriad of issues.
7) How regulation can not just protect the vulnerable but also generate tax from providers.
8) How well the UK regulatory model has been working - revenue, reduction in adverts on torrent sites by 87%, how UK consumers don't choose illegal operators etc etc (I can help volunteers for this bit if they want)
9) The straight freedom/liberty case
Outrage (which I would advise against raising at all)
1) How pokies are worse
2) Capitulation to existing Aus firms TAB
3) Hypocrisy of opponents
4) Poor lickle pro online players
Anyway that's my 2 min list, i am sure it is incomplete but agreeing a list of good points to be made and targeted by individuals and a list to be avoided (I accept that lit may be controversial) strikes me as a good idea.
I hope this note from the UK helps.
