Well we can, we just have to play at Ignition/ACR/Unregulated Chinese and Bitcoin sites. Which puts us at risk as consumers.

Hopefully we can fix this whenever that consumer framework is in place, but for now the regulated main sites are gg

Source? I don't think that Australian Government are freezing people's bank accounts. From the articles above it seems banks are closing accounts which is a worry.

It’s not the government.

It’s the banks.

Had my account closed. Even got a letter from independent reserve saying don’t write bitcoin on any transactions to them. I didn’t write that but they closed my account anyways.

Anyone who wants to do a trade at Aussie millions.

If I understand correctly CoinBase never allowed sells (withdrawals) to Australian banks.

Does anyone know of exchanges which do allow sells to the CBA?

I am not sure but we’re banks freezing/closing accounts for just buys or sells as well.

I understand ACR allows 60 or so cryptos, are they just targeting bitcoin? Has by one had a successful experience withdrawing to aus banks with some of the smaller cryptos?

Sorry for all the questions, but has are we able to play on global poker? I believe they are based out of aus but does their sweepstakes approach fall under something they can’t offer to us with the new laws (they state its legal for them to offer to the US).

But I'm pretty sure the answer is that they while they accept players from most of the world, only US & Canada can cash out, or play for real money, or whatever terminology they use with the sweeps model. Double check in their forum or on their website, though, to make sure I have that right.

It's ****ing frustrating that Pokerstars spam with emails to sell you play money.
How is accepting deposits from Aussies for play money any different to accepting real money deposits?

Just shows how ****ed up this whole shebang is !
