My guess is 2pm today will be the cutoff. I can still play on stars. Withdrawing has been tricky. I've set up a Neteller despite the bad reviews. I've only withdrawn AUD$25 to make sure I can get this money into my bank. If it works will continue to get the rest out. I'm treading water at present while they "Review my ID".

Interesting that the only options to withdraw are Neteller and Skrill - both owned by the same company - both located on the Isle of Man where Pokerstars lives (from what I can tell?). I haven't deposited on Stars for over a year so I can't withdraw to my bank account directly... tempted to just deposit $1 actually... hmmm might make things easier....

Edit: can no longer deposit. Stars just gave me notice...

*Forced withdrawal - Please note: you have to withdraw all your funds in your account*

I'm missing stars already because my god the ACR client for MAC is so bad. I can always run it through a parallel but it's annoying.

Official GG for Stars. A bit sad and relieved today, had to call in sick to ponder my life. Kinda glad its all over, been treading water for a couple of years and Im still spending too much time playing. Been in action from the 1 $50 deposit in 2007, regret being such a bankroll nit now.

GG Ozzy players, I wish you the best. Poker has been my main hobby for the last decade, gonna be a void I need to fill in the upcoming weeks, months, gonna dust off the golf clubs and keep grinding. GG players, peace.

Here, here. I'm also kind of excited to venture out into some other poker sites, eat up some bonuses, and play some straight cash games.

If anyone wants me to put them in contact with people to set them up on the Chinese sites feel free to get in touch and i'll put you in touch with their site support/brokers/affiliates etc as necessary

I'm going to download Ignition sometime this week and try it out. Not a fan of ACR really personally but might give it another shot too.

Hey guys,

Hope all are well.

Sorry I have been a bit quiet of late but, as some of you may know, I have had my own personal campaign to focus on.

Looks like we may have some exciting news headed our way shortly! Reports coming out that Minister Fifield will take a plan to amend the IGA to the party room!

Will Thursdays meeting/presentation/report (whatever its calleD) give us a better idea on the time frame of all this?

Will have to wait and see the finer details but if it passes i'd assume it makes us a segregated market which is worse than current situation.

Hadn't thought that far ahead yet tbh. Would that actually mean Aus only player pool? Or could we still play with ROW?

We'll obviously lobby to support a ROW market explaining it's the only way they make real money due to needing a critical mass of players especially for MTTs. We've been talking about the UK model the entire time and that's ROW-facing, it's far too soon to know any details

Let's hope Fifield gets it right and once we have LNP support we're very close to victory.

NFI why you think it would be a segregated player pool.... Not once was that mentioned. Just a pessimist?

People expecting the worst because the government has let us down before. They don't specify either way and I really doubt they'd have had companies like Betway give testimony if the plan was to lock all existing sites out of the market, in sports betting there are plenty of overseas owned companies like unibet and bet365 that have got Australian NT licenses to offer a .com.au version of their site in addition to all of the Australian owned ones.

We'll have more details soon and in the event anyone proposes it we'll be there to explain why it's a bad idea and why countries that have implemented it in Europe have made less revenue than countries that have stayed in the ROW pool and just implemented a tax on business done in that country (UK)

APH site has had the following change made to it

The reporting date was extended on 7 September 2017 to 18 October 2017.

So we'll get a report by October 18 and know what we're dealing with soon

It's good that they extended the deadline it means they're taking this seriously and want to do it right imo.

Senator David Leyonhjelm has been assured by Communications Minister Mitch Fifield that he has instructed his Department to undertake some preliminary work examining the feasibility of Australian onshore providers obtaining licences to operate online poker.
Sounds like it will only be open to Australian operations - i.e. no Pokerstars, 888, Partypoker or any other globally significant provider. Any proposed amendment that does not open the door to a return to the Pokerstars global player pool is virtually useless for myself and the vast majority of players. We are probably serviced better by Ignition, ACR and other grey-market sites already.

Not having a pop at anybody because it's clearly good news that an amendment is being considered, but let's be realistic.
