I can't see any thread re Stars On-Line pros so i guess here we start one. I have seen some talk of people wanting Poker Stars On-Line Pros to be at least players who are 'known'. Looking through their current stable, there are many names i am familiar with, but there are even more who i have not personally heard of before, not that i am a Kev Math encyclopedia type of dude, but i'm not totally ignorant on the subject either. Since starting pokers i came across Collin Moshman, and his delightful wife Katie Dozier via training sites etc. I watched some of Collins' vids and left a comment or two thereafter. I was really stoked when Collin replied, and since initial contact have over time also got to know (via on-line) his wife Katie Dozier, who herself is one heck of a player too,in fact she is part of the all gal group ....The Grindettes,if you ain't heard of them just Google them as that is the easiest way of finding out,but they are 3 top Pokers player.Anyways the Moshmans' are such great, helpful to the poker community people that they would be an asset to who ever was smart enough to pounce on them. Collin has written umpteen poker books, they even wrote one (so far) together...a thriller btw. They epitomise to me, what being professional pokers players should be,albeit they are more known for on-line prowess i see it as more pertinent that they would be marvellous ambassadors for Poker Stars.Hell they even do videos Pro Bono at Drag the Bar,fantastic people.

I'm not sure where you live, but to be honest it's hard for a lot of American players to get excited about what's going on at a site where we are no longer allowed to play.

I'm a fan of Johnathan Little, who plays on PokerStars (I guess he must live out of the country part of the year.) But if I didn't have a subscription to his coaching site I doubt that I would even know that he played on Stars.

you open a thread about pokerstars online pros , write 2-3 lines about it and then a lot of good things about moshman and his wife

it`s funny, but you look like Moshman in person , just kiddin`

maybe you should have opened the thread " Persons you would like as Pokerstars Pro "

Yes , sorry. If you knew me you would realise that i tend to go a bit off topic when i get going, Perhaps i am Collin Moshmans' illigitimate son from New Zealand, hence the resemblance.
I was just meaning that as a 'for instance' i would like to suggest them.
Another suggestion would be Gareth Chantler, he already is a teacher at Stars On-Line school, also has video making job at CardRunners so he is fairly well known out their (perhaps more to non US players) than many of the names already with Red Star status and a name i feel should be in the mix, as he too is very approachable, and helpful to players questions etc.
Persons i would like as a Poker Stars Pro is indeed what i should have called this thread, i know that Lee Jones is a 2+2 reader, so if and when you see this thread Lee, please give my dad and step mum a job at Stars.

Another person who would be a fine ambassador for Poker Stars would be Doug Polk imo. He seems a pleasant dude, always has a big smile on his face showing so many teeth that he could pass as one of the Osmond family. His ability at poker is as we all know, right up there with the best, and he is more well known to the poker world than a lot of current/prior Red Spaders too. Sort of guy i would be head hunting were it my task to do the hiring and firing at Starsville.

Collin is not as convincing as many might think. He has been trying for almost a year now to convince Katie to set up a date between me and her fellow Grindette Jamie...but he is losing the argument. Freakin - date and love meddling fish LOL.

Skjervøy on Stars, blopp on 2p2. (Andreas Torbergsen)

Long-term PLO grinder, still very active on and off the tables after all these years. Fighting for PLO longevity and integrity in the games. Very deserving in my books.

I don't think US players will get any player promotions anytime soon as long as Pokerstars is not in the US. They sign these online pros you never heard of based on location because they are trying to grow the market in said country. Not everybody out there is gonna signup for some random online pro they never heard of. But they are more likely to signup if they see somebody that they are similar to from their country that speaks their language and might give it a try.

Yeah Andreas is a good dude well worthy of a Position at Stars but if you have heard his vids (and he is the first to agree, his english is hard to understand, albeit he is improving at it) it is prolly better he specialises in Scandi type promotions for Stars, that is of course if he can A) Be bothered, and B) if he has the spare time available, given his hard work/study ethic away from the tables. Def a nice guy though it has been my experience.

Haha, thanks. My Northern Norwegian dialect is even worse, so Ive to talk english to Danish and Swedish people while they talk their language to me if I want them to understand me, pretty funny

To answer seriously, I also lived 3.5 years in UK after my Cardrunner vids so hopefully I made some small improvement in that area (language).

Quite funny opening post of this thread.

Im sure PokerStars will sign more PLO people for team online, and generally more europeans, lots of deserving people imo.

I think being american have to be nutworst to get a online sponsorship these days.

Having played live with Jonathan Little the only worse ambassador you could sign is Nacho Barbero

I'll throw in European or Pads as my nomination, every aspiring MTTer wants to be European or Pads

Katie Dozier would be a solid nomination, i'd have said JCarver but they already signed him

Lim Yo Hwan would be a great signing (aka Boxer from esports), he's playing a lot of poker and he's a legend in both Korea and the videogaming community and with twitch poker getting big signing him to stream alone would be worthwhile especially in the asian market. I'm not sure what he's getting from his current deal but i'm sure Stars could offer more http://www.pokernews.com/news/2014/0...from-17459.htm

Why do you think he would be so bad? Dude is outgoing, polite and skilled, what else should we expect?

I cannot possibly understand how Moorman1 is not a flagship pro for Stars.

Am I missing some info? Has he rejected a deal from stars?

I can't think of anyone else more past due or qualified to get a deal.

I also agree with Moorman1, he is a nice guy with it i have observed through interviews, also like his writing when he posts something. I think i shall purchase his book too now i think of it.

Speaking of posting, i am improving,....notice how we have evolved and started a new paragraph here, (Mrs White my year 6 teacher,.....eat your heart out) and i dare say i
will continue to do so.

Can someone please mention the date when Stars replenish their stock of newbie pros, i
have a real interest in the outcome, with all this current talk of bots and HUDs etc i am
seriously thinking of moving from Stars, especially as i definately fit in the casual-come donk catergorie, but hey isn't this the type of player that Stars loves, albeit i will never reach Super Nova status or even close due to lack of volume, and regs who reach that status i think it is fair to assume are (rake ways) much better for the sites bottom line, but the old saying of "Too many chiefs and not enough Indians" comes to mind.

I dont know a thing about reading HUDs etc but having being alerted to just what is out there in allowable software, is scary for an older guy like myself, saw a short You Tube on Nash Charts and all that other stuff such as SNG Wizard and to be frank it sort of takes the rec out of recreational player imo, due to the fact that to get proficient, and because most other players are using such tools,it takes so long to learn the ins and outs of the software that recreational players have not got the time to learn how to use the stuff. So players such as myself who only have certain time to kill, don't mind donating some, but ostensibly it appears to me that these guys are at the least, semi-profesional. So it is starting to dismay me somewhat knowing that everytime i log in to Stars, that i am at a decisive disadvantage, a couple years back i started playing $1-2 Limit but there was a Stars pro (no longer a Stars pro) who was always multi-tabling these stakes and it was hard to avoid him when i had time to play, and it actually started annoying me a bit so i just played lower stakes, see i didnt mind knocking off some bucks on occasion and generally had fun doing it (the dream Stars Donkus) but as a donkus certainly didn't want to play against pros...(ive never had an ego problem) as i knew i would be murdering my money, and like all good fishies,i at least want to think i am at least a chance.

I wonder if it ever transpires that Stars sees fit to address this problem ? Perhaps one
day there could be a sort of Handicapping type system introduced, where you could only play with players of your level, or you can take a shot and buy in to the next level if you so wish, but you cannot play in levels below yours. To determine ones ranking/level could be ,for instance, based on your Stats for however long, or....well the backroom boys will work something out i would assume, if indeed this gains momentum in time.

Thoughts guys.....??
Some fellow fishies comments would be welcome too, i really like Stars software etc, but truth is it's too damn hard to do anything but lose if you play for casual time-killing/relaxation, actually i prolly should not have written relaxation, when has pokers ever been relaxing but i'm sure y'all get my drift.

I really love the fresh perspective here.

I think however that the reason some of these guys are pros is because they win and put in a ton of volume.

Pokerstars assumes that players would love to play with someone who has the coveted Team PS badge below their avatar.

You however, seem to be stuck in the middle of taking poker seriously and playing casually. Thus you think it's not a great idea to interact with the badge.

I think that the mass multi tabling by using huds should be eliminated. At least Pokerstars would be able to please every type of recreational player then.

The somewhat aware could play away from pros because they weren't hawking every table and the random donk could take a shot at the pros.

Who knows where it's going though?

Would assume its based on the fact he plays other sites (****load of triple crowns), I don't think Stars want their pros playing on other sites.
