Hey man, I was in this exact situation ~18 months ago. I was in college, not happy with my classes or major, unsure of what I wanted to do besides poker, and my family was telling me the same stuff. I decided to drop out and "go pro"
I've been fairly successful in poker, but I still think a lot about either going back to school or looking for work outside of poker that I'm passionate about. Almost anyone who's played poker for a living leaves the game for other work at some point, for a variety of reasons. The point is, playing poker for a living usually isn't fulfilling for most people long term, so dropping out of school for poker doesn't solve your problem. If you don't like what you're studying find something different. Try taking a bunch of different classes outside of your major that look interesting.
Also, it's been said before but definitely worth repeating: poker is not as fun when it's a job. Everyone told me this, but of course I didn't believe it either. It's not that poker suddenly becomes boring, it's that it becomes your entire life. It's less exciting and more routine. You don't look forward to it in the same way.
I don't mean to discourage you from playing or pursuing poker seriously. I'm just encouraging you to think about where you want to be in 10, 20, 40 years from now and what options you want for yourself. You have a lot more opportunities in life with a degree, even if you decide to play poker for 10 years before using it. Gl whatever you end up doing
eta: just checked and op hasn't logged in since posting the thread. lol
