Thanks I missed that. However, he's going to an Arizona McDonald's which was a fairly high sales tax. That tax counts, so why not at least go to a state with higher taxes?

The whole effort was a waste.

To be fair the entire thread could've started and ended with the topic title.

Strange prop bet indeed

What a massive letdown. I could understand if this was something that just caught fire after people heard about it and the attention got out of control to something they didn't envision, but these guys were actively promoting with stuff like starting a Twitter account specifically to update the "progress." When the guy gives such a half-ass effort (boozing the night before?, eating In-N-Out fries during the bet?) after hyping it up people get mad. NickMPK asks how gullible are people; I don't think people actually thought this was possible, but were interested to see the guy give it a legit go.

I don't know anything about the veracity of the charitable donations they collected and plan on distributing, I hope at least that part is legitimate.

This thing stunk. This was the Fyre Festival of eating prop bets.

As i said, I'm surprised the bet got any attention since it was so obviously impossible. You can see my post if you doubt my certaintly; it's one of the first five or so in the thread.

But even if I had known how to bet on this and wanted to do so, how would betting my whole net worth at 1:4 make me "rich as ****"? Wouldn't it just increase my net worth by 25%?

Yeah if you're rich AF after betting against him, you were rich AF before. I don't understand what that guy's on about.

Totally. 700 bottles of water would have been the way to go for sure.

SirOsis wins this thread, Noori loses it, we're all set to shut it down now.

Touché, however if he was so certain than he could've printed money off farber

Such an awesome bet, why not have it the airport with your Penn St hat on, while begging for donations? PSUMike has more cred than these bunch of scamsters.

If i had to bet one way or another, I'd say that money is not getting used in a charitable way. If they wanted it to go to charity, then why not just have people donate to a legit charity instead of some random guy who goes to Vietnam every now and then?

If I had to bet I think the "charitable" money collected went towards the guys plane ticket, a hotel to stay at, some food, and maybe some clothes to the people who actually need it.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Basically a scam. Looks like a lot of people got played.

so this prop bet was trash but since we gave some consideration to the idea, what do you think a reasonable $ amount would be in 36 hours for an average person? assume even money odds. $200? more?

Did anyone see what I'm assuming was Matt Savage's posts itt? Someone with the screename of rzitup or something like that posted a few times basically saying that it was a friendly wager, like ppl said Noori only had 1k of the 40k or so bet to complete, and that it was more of a joke than anything. Essentially a bet among friends made more for entertainment and maybe the charity angle than anything else. It still begs the question of who made up the other 39k of action unless like stated it was all some strange charity angle

Now Matt is waffling and saying he had no action, and was rooting for noori.
