What do you imagine the real world is like my friend? Do you think you would Tony soprano someone who did this to you, and that that would work? Amazing how many are here who embarrass themselves with these victim bashing comments. Clearly those of you who do this have never been a situation remotely like this, I have, and I understand the defeated feeling and wanting to quit the whole thing.

For starters you feel dumb about it, every time it's mentioned or crosses your mind. You feel betrayed, used, and like a complete sucker. Then you feel helpless, esp when you realize just how hard it is (or impossible) to use legal action to actually get paid in these types of cases. So given the combination of those things, and the nature of our minds to constantly obsess about getting ****ed over (at least in my experience). I definitely can understand wanting to just be done with a debt, no matter the size, and move on with my life.

How does anybody see the Abe statement as "news" or some kind of revelation?? These same 2+2ers read all the other threads about Eli. This wasn't exactly breaking news.

It was obvious to me that he owed Abe a ton of money, privateworld or whatever ghost account he had to use was consistently saying this. The only thing in question was how much 500k, 1Mil+. Now we know the answer to that. All the posters here are acting like "now your caught Eli!"

Also, those posting thinking Eli thought he was going to get rich off this book are crazy. I'm sure it's just a case of Eli having his ego stroked with a book being written about his life. Nothing to do with money I'd imagine.

Now to victim shame, I know he's been threw hell with this. But Abe's writing is god awful, like that of someone who is both from another non-english country who also has never used a computer before.

It is so hurtful when a friend you trusted not only betrays that trust then turns on you.

Yeah it's really simple. All you have to do is have a successful business so you can afford to play nosebleeds (or climb the stakes to get there) play daily with some of the best players for around a decade, get on T.V. and loan five and six figures and be seen paying it back. It's just a case of playing the long con.

Im not trying to bash anyone. And yes it boggles my mind. And yes i've never been in a situation like this remotely close in amount of money. I have learned the hard way giving people loans for in my case substantial money that time and age, however I never felt anything like you described aside from the sucker part. I have learned that it takes a lot more then playing poker with someone for a long time to be a good friend. I think im saying that it boggles my mind that a. someone can basically steal 1MMish without consequences and b. someone is capable of doing this and still keep showing up if nothing happend.
