I agree with this POV. Also, I'd be surprised if producers/announcers/players had an understanding not to air dirty laundry, when they can easily speak privately about it on breaks.
I'd guess there's a lot of people that subscribe to Pokergo that are either rec players, pro players that don't follow/care about the gossip, or are players that don't play mix but want to learn, or are curious about these games.
It was the tv stuff - from Moneymaker to High Stakes Poker and Poker after Dark, that got the general public so excited and invested in this great game and the characters in it. Let's hope Pokergo and all the other content producers (from podcasts, streaming, tv, etc) carry the mantle the best they can, so that poker trends upward amongst the general public and the poker economy grows.
